Vilppu is weird. He is too complicated for beginners but by the time you are ready to learn from him it is excruciating to watch because you already know about his material of gesture and breaking down stuff into basic forms. He just merges the two very well. It is a life long endeavour to be able to keep your fluid gesture while constructing and adding anatomy. Not a 12 week course type deal.

Vilppu, Hampton, Bridgeman are there to allow you to explore possibilities
You are supposed to figure out things yourself. Your shapes and your construction forms
You have all skeleton and muscle reference in the world
YOu're not supposed to always draw it like Villpu or whoever did

You'd be surprised. Looking back at some of those CA.org sketches, some of those pros couldn't even draw a box in perspective at first.

Sure drawing cubes is something everybody should either be able to or learn to do but Vilppu's flowing style is not nearly as structural as the NMA courses offered by Huston or Gnass and I would argue their methods are more cerebral and therefore easier to follow.
