the thing is that you have to care about other people and give them attention by commenting or liking their art. Of course friendship with them is not guaranteed if they dont like your stuff back but really, all of the artists i know mostly got their friends that way.

I've been desperately wanting to move somewhere that has a community for animation and game design so I can meet other artists in person. Everyone in the small community where I live is heavy into conceptual art, with a few diehard traditional artists sprinkled here and there. All nice people but I don't fit in with them, there's no one to collaborate with or be a mentor to me. Only thing holding me back is the fact that living somewhere big enough to have such a community is expensive af.

I made a lot of friends through the dad/Las website and discord. Got to meet some of them IRL at art conventions. Art communities like that are a fun way to meet other wannabe pros and make friends for life.
