Can we get a nice manga panel and lineart thread going
What kind of style do you want to achieve for your linework?

Also looking for that one nip artist who draws little boys getting lewded by onee-san's in various situations.

Cool thread. I want my lines to express dynamism for movements. I think it makes the panels so much more alive than its' confined boxes. I also like how Horikoshi uses text effects as part of the art itself.

Gonna stay for that nip artist.

I feel Kubo is both overrated and underrated as a mangaka.

What I mean by him, is that people who like him, tend to emulate his art style, which imo, peaked at Soul Society, though sone later stuff was pretty good from a design standpoint as well.

However, his biggest strengths go totally unappreciated by the people who love to bash him. His linework is incredibly strong, very clean and stylish, the way he stylized onomatopoeia is great. His love for calligraphy really shows, with how much care he puts into making sure the sound effects LOOK good and blend well visually with the page. But most importantly, his composition is top notch. The pages, MOVE. It’s a super clean and easy read, and everything just has a very strong cinematic feel to it. He’s definitely someone worth analyzing if you wanna get into manga, especially if you’re interested in how to ink in a way that’s aesthetically pleasing.

Bleach, along with Naruto and DragonBall, are all guilty of "everyone" liking the style but not really knowing why, then copying it ad nauseum.

Kishimoto has some fantastic backgrounds and his layouts were always amazing. He had some good action shots too.

Toriyama had great mech and monster designs. (His Dragon Quest monsters are all great) I remember liking his backgrounds too, back when he did them, but they're not nearly as impressive as Kishimoto's. Toriyama said he studied from Bruce Lee movies a lot and that's how he learned how to do muscles. It's why Goku and them all look pretty good in their musculature in Z. I personally prefer his comical designs ala Dragonball, though.

All three of them really suffered from burnout thanks to Jump's scheduling, as their shining examples became far fewer as the series dragged on.

mostly books

hmm idk pretty much any nip book sharing site has dozens of new gravure books and magazines each month, so you can only imagine how many you could grab in local stores. They are full of poses and angles, but it's just reference, the main thing is ofc coming up with the scenarios, paneling, and drawing it believably. If it's a really tricky perspective they also either use a 3d model or take a photo of a model, assistant, themselves, as reference.
