For some reason Chris Chan's comics and docs on him inspire me to work on my own stuff that is completely unrelated to anything he has made. Maybe because they work like "what not to do" tutorials?

I don't wanna be a party pooper, but I think it's sad that people like CWC become "popular" in the first place. You don't really believe Sonichu is admirable when you say "well at least he's committed", it's just an autist doing what autists do.
Maybe CWC was just a regular autistic guy when he started Sonichu but as he was fed the illusion of celebrity because people treated him as a living meme he became more and more unhinged. Maybe Sonichu was his only outlet, but now he's completely unrecoverable just because people enjoy a lolcow. I don't blame the internet, but I think someone should have kept him safe from this. I wonder what a psychiatrist would say about this.

Opening pinterest often sends me down a rabbit hole of artist I didn't even know existed that now become the most insperational thing I've ever seen. I also sometimes sit down with old comics or manga I read as a child. Suprisingly it's the simple stuff that manages to be so impactful that's the most inspiring. It just shows how you don't even need a lot of technical skill to effectivly communicate a sense of place, character, emotion, action etc.
Drawing feels more magic when you communicate a lot simply imo
Oh and Rebbeca Sugars instagram and Pug Davis comic also instill an urge to draw like nothing else.

I know it's a futile battle but I did wish we could all collectivly agree to not interact with people online in a way that we know will most likely hurt them. Not just people who's mental differnces make them in need of much more support and guidence in how to make responsible decisions but also just regular people even when they did something wrong.

Like say someone does something really bad and they deserve to be called out for it. Sending them death threats or snuff porn or mobbing them with mean tweets is only going to have a negative impact on their well being with out helping anyone else.

In the case of Chris-chan, it's so obvious that this isn't a person who's going to be able to understand everything that was happening to him and a lot of the shit we put him though is just harrasment. People keep saying "well he kind of deserved it" but what does that even mean other then victim blaming for not knowing how to take themselves out of harms way. It's not cool mess with someone just because it's entertaining and they don't know how to disengage.

I agree that a psychiatrist would probably want him to establish healthier boundries on the internet.

dude his vision is just him sockpuppeting a bunch of vidya characters. you think he decided to become trans just like that? of course he spent too much time unsupervised on the internet and got influenced to do that. This is exactly why lgbt should be kept the fuck away from kids, and kids from the internet.
