I'd recomend you get a natural hair brush. Usually you can get different ones that have different hair. Generally pony hair brushes are the cheaper category and are still very good quality. I'd recommend going for that so you don't spend too much at first.
Also, make sure to get a round and flat brush. The size should be acording to the size of canvas you'll be using, but if you want to sepnd a bit more, you could start at the mid size range and buy a pair bellow that and a pair above.

When using the brush, have a small water container with warm water and a paper towel. Clean the rbush regularly and don't let it sit with ink for too long. That way you can keep the brush healthy.

There's another way to do it, you could have the /beg/ and the pro both make a rough sketch, then they swap and finish each other's work, so it's a collab where the pro's might be ruined by the /beg/'s, but the /beg/s' is transformed into something wonderful

Keys is good for start, it's teach you how to not symbol draw and how to draw from observation. But you are drawing from imagination. Loomis should help you better with this.

Yes, I know. I'm deviating. The resources in it have actually been pretty helpful.
I have a pretty strong understanding of two point perspective, but not 3 point perspective or the more advanced topics in Scott Robertson. That being said, I'll break from the rigor of just obsessively chasing down "mastery" of a single topic, because learning art apparently isn't like math where you can just take things one at a time.
I'm not sure how best to advance. The guide lists "Sketching the Basics", "Michael Hampton Analytical Figure Drawing" and Ctrl+Paint's painting content.
So I'm at a crossroads. What would be best to move forward on? Are any of these too hard for me to jump into at the time being? Should I use something else entirely? I really need a sense of direction.

I think I'm just going to treat the deadline like it's at 12 noon instead of midnight. Drawing every day is good, but deadlines are stifling and I don't want to make artistic compromises just to post at 23:XX. Maybe if I put a soft deadline on myself then I can help prevent that situation from creeping up on me.

To be absolutely straightforward:
Short term goal is general competence (like a lot of our more prolific digital painters here).

The long term goal is fantasy webcomics / animation, with a focus on worldbuilding. Implies a strong need for character design, understanding of anatomy/construction, strong and creative use of perspective. Also need to have solid knowledge of values and composition. So I need to be well-rounded?

I think you should do more finished pics, they don't have to be daib level effort but just something that you could upload to somewhere and not call it a study

I suggest this for a few reasons:

Art will feel very dry and meaningless if you just grind exercises all the time, it's important to frequently make actual art with the skills you have trained, this will make both your experience as an artist more enjoyable and make the studies feel more meaningful because you can more physically and intuitively see how they're helping you
>highlight weaknesses
It's hard to know what you need to improve when you only do studies, a weak study feels less serious than a weak finished picture. When you make a finished picture and it doesn't look right, you look at it harder to figure out what went wrong, basically it's much easier to see your weaknesses in gallery pieces than studies. From this you will have a better idea of what to study, and those studies will feel more meaningful.

Making finished gallery pieces is ultimately the goal of being an artist, and there is some skill to be learned in the act of actually making finished pieces. You have to take all that you've learned and juggle it together into an interesting idea and execute it well. You have to render it out fully, clean it all up, work on it for longer than you would a study. All these things take practice, it's like if you were doing music studies, playing the piano slowly to practicing it at full speed as you would on stage, it's a skill to practice.

In terms of what I think you should study at your current stage right now, from the look of your gallery I recommend doing more construction via 3d shapes. It's deceptively simple but takes many years to truly grasp. They don't have to be perfect or follow strict perspective, they just need to feel 3d and have clear form planes. Try rendering them with lighting as well. Better yet, turn them into finished pictures

Things like "you won't learn unless you complete a lot of pieces", or "you're a /beg/, learn your fundamentals before trying to make something".
Then comes the question of: what if I don't have proper familiarity of the medium yet, which leads me to "maybe I should go through at least the basics of CTRL+Paint" and then take an approach like this. The same goes for concepts like construction / lighting / value, which I have nearly 0 knowledge of and people constantly recommend honing those skills on an individual basis when possible (dynamic sketching / DAB for construction, not sure about values/lighting).
I guess what I'm getting at is that I think this is very good advice; I just have an insane amount of anxiety from all the time I've wasted already and I'm just playing devil's advocate. The old adage of "just draw" has merit, but there's so many ways I can plateau awfully and I'm fucking terrified.
The prevailing advice (which you have also expressed), which I am leaning towards following, seems to focus on "draw what you like to draw and pick up these concepts gradually as you do them", but part of my skepticism dives into thoughts like "how can I really be sure I really understand the concepts I'm exploring or am even learning from it"?

About what to study. Study what brings you closer to your goals. If you don't know what, then do a piece for fun and then see what you're lacking. Rinse and repeat.
