How true is it that just a few days break is a huge set back (especially as beg+)?

Every time I get back to drawing after a break I feel my accuracy in life drawing drops noticeably, it's either being slow or inaccurate. I don't know about line quality as I always start with a warm up and try to doodle huge circles every time I'm at a desk.

A few days once in a while could let you rethink things, gather inspiration and come back stronger.

But a week is an absolute limit, slacking for over a week breaks the flow.

Drawing is like running. If you go too hard you don’t perform as well. You need a break every so often to make your body hungry.

I usually take the weekend off and draw during the week

I was drawing daily for about a year and decided to take a break of about 2 weeks, my drawings were better when I returned.

You have to rely on conscious decision making for the most part, NOT habit. My break helped me to break all the things I did out of habit, resulting in less repeating mistakes and less of me just drawing the same poses and characters and designs again and again.

where did I say that I haven't drawn for the past 4 years? I just said that there was a period of 4 years where I didn't draw. It's been like 3 years since that.
