Anytime i sit down to draw my mind goes completely blank and i just draw rows of straight lines and circles because my tiny neanderthal brain can't come up with anything else. How do i get into the right state of mind for drawing? I've done it before but i can't get it to happen on command.

Let's conduct an experiment.
1. Assuming you're not asexual, who is your number 1 celebrity crush?
2. Look around where you live at all yor wordly possessions. If it was all taken away in an instant and you could only keep one thing, what would it be?
3. What's your favorite animal, if any?
4. What's your favorite food?

So whats the problem, you can't think of something to do or you cant figure out how to go about doing something?
Unless its just motivation/inspiration and you think that you can conveniently just wait until your in the mood

Do what that one manben artist did with her senses. Constant still lifes until she hated it, but got really good and quick. No need to think, just draw.

Grab a sketchbook and go outdoors. Just sloppily keep drawing all you see and enjoy taking it in.

If you struggle to draw because of mental blocks, then prevent yourself from having to think about what to draw to begin with. Do a leaf or a stick or something. Multiple angles.

I personally lack any sort of interest and things to draw, but i do really enjoy the action of drawing. That's what keeps me going. So this works for me.

Personally i found my aid for concentrating is putting on lyricless music. Was listening to the halo soundtrack the other day and actually didnt divert and do other stuff.

Same boat as you anon. I keep feeling my brain go on autopilot and I want to practice more efficiently. Is meditation really the key?

1. Celebrities are gay. Why couldn't this just be "favorite celebrity" if you're worried about excluding the aceholes.
2. My car? unless my dog counts as a possession.
3. My dog
4. My dog

Your answers should tell you something about your passions. Specifically, in these four examples, how you relate to others, objects, the natural world and food which you need everyday to live. I just picked four things at random. You could keep doing this yourself and journalise the results.
5. What's my favorite song/band?
6. Favourite sex position (including to fap to if youre an incel).
7. Which country would I live in if I had to leave home but got to choose where?
8. If I could snap my fingers and be doing my dream job what would it be?
Asking yourself things like this and writing about them in free association will allow you to get to know yourself better and at some point, thinking about the things you love or aspersations, you're gonna get inspired and have ideas for art!
If it feels shit to have to essentially perform one art form (writing) before doing the visual art that you'd prefer, bad luck. Inspiration is just as important a tool as paints, brushes, canvas, clay, drawing tablet, paper etc. For some people inspiration is more important than those.

Think about these things. Start a journal, picking one topic at a time. People generally love answering these kinda questions. Just write about them in long form until you understand your interests and your feelings better. Eventually you'll be "writing" about them in the form of visual art.
