I think the problem with corporate internet is that everyone is forced to coexist. But this is the essence of how the market works. You do something for an audience, and then a member of the audience eventually says "Hey that's cool, but what if you did this?", and now you've been presented with this whole new market opportunity and a whole new demographic to appeal to. That's why Ford doesn't just make trucks, they make everything. That's why your favorite burger joint probably sells a chicken sandwich. That's why Disney has a theme park. That's why 33% of McDonald's revenue is from real estate. Nobody is just a fucking auteur with universal appeal throughout the entirety if time and space. You're selling art. Eventually that art will either lose appeal or you as an artist will desire more funds/exposure, and either when that happens or as a means to prevent that, you have to take a cue from the audience.

You're mischaracterizing my argument. Dunkin donuts sells donuts, donut holes, bagels, and breakfast sandwhiches. It starts with donuts and slowly expands into things within the same domain over time. You have your donuts, and donut holes are the same frying method just using the excess dough, bagels are just baked dough, and a breakfast sandwhiches is just that bagel with an egg and a strip of bacon. It all follows the last thing and all of them use the same basic tools and principles.

I am talking about art. Art is not about implications, and art is something you sell to an audience. Objective quality is a debatable topic because as soon as you delve outside of discussion of pure fundamentals and their application and start talking about something like subject matter you're having a subjective discussion about Shoulds and Shouldn'ts and it's all very personal.

Morally wrong? On what grounds? If an artist willingly takes a cue from their audience and expands to another subject while retaining their style and general vusion, what moral has been violated? And disregarding the art itself, since we live in a world where you need money to eat, artists already make constant consessions for the sake of making rent over making art. Because these are the same general thing. A human form, subject to the same kinds of lighting and motion and whatever else have you, just with a darker tone. From the perspective of Art and not from your subjective personal judgement of blacks and their humanity, these are comparable visual subjects. If you have issue with that assessment then make an actual argument

Because they are. A black person and a white person is just a human form with a different shade, and I suppose different facial features. Likewise a donut and a donut hole are just dough, deep fried in different shapes. Chinese food requires an entirely different set of equipment (Wok, flame stove) and ingredients (Meat, broccoli, string beans, water chestnut, onions sauce, peanut oil). They are not similar enough that a Dunkin Doughnuts employee would be easily able to make Chinese food sole with their doughnut experience.
