Have you ever had to sacrifice aspects of your life for drawing?
If so, what did you cut out?

i take three baths a week and defecate every two days so i have more time to draw

Everything
I have no friends, my job is art, my hobbies are exclusively art and nothing else, I don't play any games, I don't watch any movies, I only care about art

I haven't reached a level of obsession that I'm happy with yet, it's difficult to do but I think it's worth it
Some periods I have managed to get really immersed in art (wake up thinking of art, think only of art all day, go to sleep thinking of art, repeat for 2 weeks straight) but I eventually fall out of it and lose that sense of numbness that comes with such immersion

I wish I could quit my job, because even though it's art ,I'm often distracted by the gossip of other people and those lingering thoughts can go on a long time

It is a good feeling to be focussed on art because the concentration is very strong and you can study for very long without losing focus, it helps take away feelings of meaningless about life and stuff like that. In a way it's a sort of strange meditation, particularly when you are studying something that's more focussed on repetition than thought
I'm sorry I rambling but I just wanted to share my thoughts thank you

I stopped working full time and now make about 1/5 of what I used to (half it used to go to taxes anyways). I have half the hours and moved somewhere way cheaper so it's worth it.

I was already an incel wizard, so if I have to die alone I might as well be a good illustrator before dying

Probably videogames. Well, I didn't sacrifice it; the itch for playing just went away and never returned.

I still cant get to the point where I can sacrifice video games for art.

I realize I'm never going to make it this way but there are just so many games I care about and want to play. And I'm particularly fond of the long JRPGs that take like 40+ hours.

Literally haven't drawn in 4 days.

Romance. My social life is limited to 2 groups of friends that I care too much about to leave.

Also video games. Because of school most of my already short free time is taken by drawing or talking with friends (mostly both at the same time). I can only play 3 or 4 games per year during holidays.

I guess my high school grades would have been a bit better if I wasn't preparing for the entry exam to art school. Otherwise nothing worth mentioning. Sometimes I use it as an excuse to not have to be around people but I don't feel like I'm missing out.

Just enjoy the journey retard, it's a marathon not a sprint.
I been at it for 5 years and will keep doing it, no point in rushing.
My stupid past self do that and look what i got, pain in right hand, can't draw for long.
Got to a good level now but pain in my hand is annoying.
3-4 more years and i'm can get to top tier, just comfy and relax drawing now
