The birg girl is named Jejune, and honestly, she really has no reason to be a bird person, and she'll probably be the only bird person to appear in the comic. She's only a bird because the comic was originally gonna be a yume nikki fangame, she was based off of a toriningen. But after someone told me the fangame would be a bad idea i completely reset it and now its a completely new thing, only she's still a bird.

As for corpse girl, she is a human, except shes also a thing called a "corpse ghost". Basically, she was murdered and because her death was unjust a second body sprung from the corpse and is now her. She lives on as a corpse ghost, which is basically just an animated body that can turn invisible, so she cant fly or pass through things and stuff.

Heres a drawing of Jejune i am currently working on. shes supposed to be holding on to a cup of tea, since she reads the future with her tea. its based off of a real thing called tasseography

Snakes are feared and hated for their shapeshift magic, and it's discovered that the royal family of the Empire were secretly serpents in disguise. With the whole empire out for his blood, the crown prince flees the palace, only to find himself in a faraway country with no clue how to live as a snake. After teaming up with a poor farmgirl who blackmails him after learning his secrets, the two set off towards the capital, determined to do whatever they need to win back to the throne.

Use a brush with a thin diameter whose minimum diameter is less than zero. This keeps your lines at uniform thickness at the minimum pressure, so you're not tapering your lines into nothingness at the end of your stroke. This gives your brush a thin "micron marker pen" look that's not only aesthetically pleasing, but it forces you to be confident and decisive in your linework since you can't sketch timid lines that are so thin you can hardly see them.

Try not to go "back and forth" over your lines when drawing. Your lines can cross and overlap, but do so with committed strokes, in the same direction, and carve out areas that are too thick with your eraser to give them the desired shape, rather than spamming Ctrl+Z or erasing everything and trying to get the line perfect in one take. This line confidence will help open up your masses, eliminate unnecessary distractions from chicken-scratchy lines, and helps keep your forms clean and defined, despite being sketches.

Guess, I'll dump this here. Just some little story telling that I think about when sketching out cyborg designs.

The idea for this was that Mk.6 was meant to serve as a standard infantry unit in some fictional cyborg army. After undergoing rigorous training, she noticed that her predecessors, unit lines made before the Mk. series, were now barren and battle-broken machines, with most of them stuck to only non-combat tasks, and saw to it that the new generation models, must take the helm. As such, Mk.6 had destroyed the unit in charge of the R&D division by ripping out her microprocessor, crushing it in her hand. Before Mk.6 could be scrapped, engineers saw that pieces of the microprocessor that had pierced her hand were being absorbed due to her core's unusual make-up energy, allowing her also to 'absorb' her predecessor's data. As such, she was put in charge of the R&D division and remodeled to be a special unit, capable of utilizing extra parts as either weapons, extra armor, or replacing damaged parts.

Her whole thing of taking in parts was a reference to Goya's Saturn painting ,with the whole, old and new conflict, in mind.

Can I give you one piece of advice, as an artist and not an animator?
Ignore the freckles. Seriously. Don't even sketch 'em in the roughs. Just do a quick, front-view texture of them, then when you're all ready to color everything, just Liquify that texture for each frame so they match the angle. (And then paint over 'em if they get a bit blurry.)

I was noodling with square shapes, and I ended up liking the head shape so much I made a character. I'm still not to happy on the poses I came up with— I want something intimidating + stuck up I guess?

I wouldn’t say you need more exposure, I’d actually say you’d need to find your own direction. The characters I mentioned earlier aren’t just generic characters made from snakes and rabbits, but more that the rabbit and snake is tangentially incorporated into the design as a motif. So maybe a good idea is to find some additional motif for the cowboy—doesn’t have to be some archetype fusion or another animal, maybe some original iconography, or some edgy quirk to put on the hat, among other things. You get the idea.

Actually, after typing all that, I just noticed the “elf shoe” the hat has. Problem is the triangles kind of draw away from that characteristic. I might suggest making the currently-existing triangles as outlining, while drawing solid triangles on the underside of the hat. That should draw more attention to the original trait of the hat. Any other spot with triangles can be left alone.
