I make way more on 150€ furry commissions than I make on the €1k 'professional' commissions for respectable clients. Lol. I'm dead serious.

I can post 'open for commissions yay!' and offer 10 slots, and within 2-3 days I have 10 x €150 on my paypal. After fees, that's €1400. And then I work through those in 3 days. With revisions and some fucking around inbetween make it 4 days.

€350/day... not glamorous, but a living. And no boss to bother me, no annoying commute, my own time management, long term growth is in MY project, not some company that will show me the door after 3-4 years... furries are also super patient, super hassle free to deal with, generally make room for anything you impose on them, will happily pay upfront, etc etc

Now compare to that the 1k pro tier commission. Endless revisions, shitty communication from a client, very high standard of 'tightness' to the piece... no way I can turn the gig from payment to full completion in less than a week. If the client replies swiftly and things go somewhat smooth I can maybe do it in 3-4 days. Oh and yeah, no full upfront payments here. It'll always start feeling like the client is dangling the last payment inront of your face like a carrot on a stick while asking for revisions. It's so disrespectful. I'll happily revise the shit you dumb cunt but fucking pay me already. FUCK.

It's honestly not so much about technical skill though. I sometimes feel like I could make more if I were a bit less perfectionist and pumped out stuff only 70% as high effort, but more of it as a result. Every new post = exposure, new watchers, new mentions, new potential commissions. So posting consistantly and as much as possible is a business imperative. Always claim the posted art is a commission, even when it isn't. Always sign your work. Have a little bit of branding so people who like your stuff begin to associate it with your logo/name/etc.

You have to censor. And you only post there for extra exposure. I either crop my image or copy paste a melon or a banana ontop of the nsfw bits. A tit here and there is fine on da. It becomes an annoying amount of work to post everywhere but that's what it takes.

In a perfect world you'd have a little app that takes care of posting everywhere for you, but such is life. A guy I know hired a third world virtual assisstant to handle this and some other tasks for him, and since it's a real company that provides bills he can write it off as a business expenses on his taxes. - zbrush sculpt furry character
- 3d print (gotta be decent quality though) either with your own printer or via some company
- sell 3d prinzed sculpt for wealthy furrys to decorate their living room with a bust of their oc
