Improved in literally 20 hours, drawing for 4 hours a day. What's your excuse?

It took her about five days to realize she may use references to supplement her imagination, I dread to think how long it would take for her to internalize all that information and utilize it independently.

I was doing that for a while but then I became more and more stressed by my own dissatisfaction with my work so I decided to scale back to 30 minutes a day. I'm trying to work my way back up again.

It's honestly pathetic. Kids watch some anime and feel inspired to do the same but don't want to apply the same work ethic it takes to get to that level. They just ask for endless books and tutorials to compensate for their lack of practice. Just say you're lazy and go lmao

All I took from this was that the japs have way better books to learn from and I'll never get good.

At a fundamental level, all she did was copy the drawings. She eventually abandoned the books and just copied magazines with some tips she learned in the books along with more practice. You're really trying to tell me you're incapable of doing that? Our generation is fucking hopeless.

They have books for explaining practically everything you could think about and the west has to use 30+ year old material from dead people who could only draw with reference.

>> No.4031463

>>4031457
lol only now when we have every reference we could possibly need to make illustrations at our fingertips do beginners act like using them is bad. Loomis and everyone before him had to draw without reference much more often considering they didn't have the internet.

>> No.4031473

>>4031457
D-do you think that the authors of those japanese books you're orgasming over just printed them from their imagination? They used references too. The girl in the video is literally using a reference (the book and magazines) to fucking draw. Why do insist on using shitty excuses for being bad? And no, we're not limited to using "30+ year old material" we have a wealth of information on the internet to explain the same concept 1000+ different ways so you can understand it. If any of those methods still do not click for you maybe art isn't your thing.

All the woman did in the video was copying the drawings. C'mon you can do it.

>> No.4031629

why people think theres some secret in the book LOL

she literally just copied images using construction, thats how you understand 3 dimensions.

thats literally what you should be doing to improve

if you cant do that, then stop trying because you ngmi

Am I the only one who saw barely any improvement? Can she even do gesture drawing, all her drawings were stiff as fuck. Can she even put a single muscle in place? I have not seem any examples of it in her video. All she did was copy the reference's outline. No construction at all. If she posted that shit here people would call ner ngmi and tell her to go read loomis. She would say '' well that is just my style (which seems like it is), but nobody would care (me included because that shit sucks), but you are all being hypocrites here.

You're not alone, she clearly already had some familiarity with drawing and she didn't "improve", she just changed what kind of art she was doing.

She just used this "pretty good for a beginner, huh?" bullshit excuse to paint her mediocre skills into a good light.

If she can inspire thousands of people to at least try studying correctly and diligently for 20 hours, I consider this video a net positive; if instead she just feeds the attentionwhoring social media algorithm with empty vanity, then it's a net loss.
