Leonardo’s dedication to capturing the essence of passing faces and drafting them on spot inspires me to consistantly push my working memory. His attention to detail of expression and emotion is profound. Rumor has it that while he was painting The Last Supper, he’d stand in the town square and wait to find the face of Judas. This dedication to one’s craft is a lesson I keep in mind whenever I feel discouraged, and not just in drawing.
