Some time ago I was watching environment design videos and everyone drew these sci-fi cities with random cables going from building to building. You are in year 5000 but you need these long ass cables hanging from building to building, can't you run the cables underground? Alright I'm gonna bite and give a serious reply.
1) being realistic in sci-fi settings (which itself sounds stupid already) is only necessary if you're actually working on a project that has a world to build, not for random drawings which should prioritize aesthetics over logic
2) there are no flying cars in that picture so i don't see why you're complaining
3) if there were flying cars, a good idea would be to put cables in run-down hallways at the bottom of the city, while the cars fly above.
