Is the Ilya course actually worth a fuck for a /beg/ or should I start elsewhere? I already know about laying down tone and hatching and platonic volumes and measuring and can kind of do gesture

You can watch the first 5 lessons or so of Iliya's course just to make sure you got the fundamentals. After that it quickly becomes advanced and I'd say you'd learn the most from it if you are atleast intermediate level. Iliya's course is unique because it is so focused on rendering, and how he uses knowledge of anatomy to do that beyond just drawing what he sees. Most of time spent in the videos is of him showing you how he carefully renders everything and why. If you can't draw things pretty well from observation yet with just line/contour then I would wait until you can.

Adding onto this a /beg/ would learn from Huston's beginner construction videos much faster than from Iliya. But Iliya's course is when you want to move on being more accurate/realistic and better at rendering with tone while learning more about constrution/anatomy in the process.

Yeah. It has everything. I.e. Covers every foundational topic. I personally think this should be the first course people do before they moblve on to specialised stuff like nma, watts, loomis or even digital. Very approachable teaching style. I'm glad I searched "Drawing" om cfpeers and downloaded every torrent i could find
