generally you shouldn't bother with mainstream titles since they get scanned pretty consistently and can be found online in languages ranging from chinese, japanese, korean, and eng if it was localized.

I found this last remaining artifact in my mom's old artbook collection. I was wondering if it had already been scanned and if not if anyone would like me to scan it. It's very large and had many pages so I'd have to take it to a place or have someone do it for me.

It's a big book, and so far, largely a biography - lots of examples of his work, though. I knew nothing about Leyedecker before this, but was familiar with Norman Rockwell. The younger Rockwell basically copied Leyendecker's style, assumed, his role, and moved into his life, edging him out.

Im not sure without destroying the book. When I used to scan manga raws I would heat the edge to melt the binding glue, then separate the pages for scanning. Im personally fine with looking at good quality sized pictures if you just want to snap some pics of the pages and combine into a pdf. All that matters is readable text and detailed artwork

It doesn't really matter. Learning art is a non-linear and recursive activity. Go through the course, practice every lesson, take notes, and move on. Learn something else, maybe more about drawing 3D form (Olson's perspective course, Robertson, Sketching for Product Designers, Ctrl+Paint, Phil's Design Corner), then after you're done with those, go back to Vilppu again, and with your new knowledge see if you can understand and interpret Vilppu's words differently this time.
