ITT: Most wanted features of programs

For me it's of Krita:

For me Krita handles 6000*4000 well enough and i think it can go bigger.
But i run it on an OCd 2700x with fast ram.

I did check the 4.2 alpha.
The pomissid features are
>Higher performance
>Ability to resize the layer previews in the layers tab.

On top of that the only thing i could ask for is to rip off the photoshop's replace color feature.

Replace color is the only thing i really miss from PS. IT was so helpful for fine adjustments. And to me it doesn't sound like something difficult to implement either.

>using pipette tool
Why would anyone ever use the pipette tool when alt+click picks the color and then gets you back to the brush tool.

Although it would help if the erazer was a separate tool.
It would allow me to paint with one brush and eraze with another

I want the devs to make the program work normally on every computers before adding more features which only bring more bugs. And also stop rejecting the fault on Windows.

I had troubles with Krita and disabling graphics acceleration made things better (it was still clunky, but usable).
Until they made 4.2. Now nothing runs properly, it lags and eats up my CPU like hell.
It's great to add HDR compatibility, something no one will use for years, if people can't even draw properly.

Oh and
>Returning to previous tool after using pipette tool
When you press ctrl+left_click it should select a color and then return to the previous tool like you said.
You can also set this shortcut on your right click to be more efficient, if you don't use the pop-up menu.

>HSL/HSV color sliders

I can't believe that it been almost a year now and the devs STILL haven't brought back the color sliders. It's not like compared to every other feature, the color sliders is very complex to implement. They should have given this to one of their "summer of code" students to knock this out right quick.

They even completely overhauled the artistic color selector docker before adding the color sliders again, pic related. It's not that it isn't cool though and I probably won't use it, I just wish both could have been released in 4.2

>>3948008
Just import whatever you was working on to Medibang and use Medibang's text tool. That's what I do with Krita because it's text tool is still annoying to use.

>>3948064
>It's great to add HDR compatibility, something no one will use for years, if people can't even draw properly.

I guess the HDR painting is kinda cool but compared to the other things in Krita that could be improved like the resource management system, HDR painting felt like near the bottom of the list importance. Not even linux users can use HDR right now. Only windows users can.

Why exert so much effort into a feature a very small minority of users will use?

>> No.3948163

>>3948014
I wish Sai just had slightly more features like CSP. I've tried to make the switch but using CSP's brushes don't feel nearly as smooth and comfy as Sai's.

because HDR in krita is sponsored by intel.

Sometimes it feels like the tagging system works at random when I try to import a new bundle. Sometimes it can correctly create a new tag/group for the bundle but other times it doesn't work and you have to look through the "all" tag for the brushes you just installed.

I would like a overhaul of how the brush presents are organized too. Even if it's something a little like this

I miss the 'contrast' slider, which was available in the earlier versions.
Yes, I understand that you can just mess around with levels and curves to get the same result, but using contrast slider is both faster and easier.

Now that I think about it. Almost every foss graphics editor has shit UX right now.

That's it for me. For the longest time you couldn't even crop your canvas, they didn't have ellipse tools, they didn't have text, they didn't have mesh transform or liquify. They added all those things recently so it's 99% of the way there but I'm still really wanting some good ol' fashioned gradients.
