She got a fat nose with a gaping nostril, the line from her cheek coupled with making her look fatter. The top of her head is also a bit squashed. along with right cheek being a bit too round. Eyes are squished, spaced and a bit misaligned. Chin seems to be jutting out, another fat aspect.

This kind of reference will hurt more than help. There's field of view distortion, where objects near the corners of the image have a slightly different perspective than objects closer to the center, almost like a fisheye. This is present in almost every amateur photograph because its part of the nature of lenses and amateurs don't know to work around it. Good reference photos will have been taken from a dozen feet away, with the subject as constrained to the center of the field of view as possible. This gives the image more consistent orthogonals.

I think that's a part of the issue; you're working with a distorted basis. The best reference is real life, but that's not entirely practical for everyone, so the next best thing is to find professional photographs and work from those.

Yes, that would help. I would also suggest simplifying the highlights, and making them brighter so they pop more. Basically, increase the contrast of the fluids.
Alternatively, you could make the coloring style of the rest of the image more delicate. It's very high contrast due to the lines which is choking out the fluid details. I think the way you've done the fluids would stand out alright against lighter, less graphic coloring.
