you really have to stick to a single hobby if you plan on making it, unless you don't need to work full time.

If you instrumentalists want some inspiration, moderndayjames used to play in a band. But then decided to commit full time to art (after quitting med school).
I wish I could sing or play an instrument ;_; They're pretty social hobbies that still use "creativity".

Pure classes are like twice the level by the time the multiclass manages to get up to par. When it comes to spellcasting classes, being able to cast a gestureball and haste is an astronomical difference compared to still plinking away with pussy ass chickenscratch missiles.

I'd rather get to being able to reliably cast 9th level drawing spells (6 Point Perspective; Power Word: Loomis) than become a shitty jack of all trades. Of course the most OP class is cleric (Michelangelo), you can directly channel the power of GOD and bring your work to life with sheer faith. Wild wizard (Van Gogh) is overrated, you can get crazy painting spell effects but you become insane and shoot yourself in the chest after huffing all your spell components

While practicing both on the same day will diminish gains on both ends it's better than losing all gains on one of the skill. Only do this if you're dead set on getting good at both, if you are willing to choose one over the other do it.
