It does that. If you follow 2 people who follow a certain nsfw artist, it will put that nsfw on your feed. Also, if you like a nsfw post, your followers may see that post on their feed (with a note that you liked it).

Up your game, then. Your inactivity might disappoint them. Even worse, it might bore them and make them unfollow you.

Could be worse, though. You could have a bunch of followers who follow you and then proceed to never interact with a single thing you post ever again.

>You could have a bunch of followers who follow you and then proceed to never interact with a single thing you post ever again.

They might be "bot-like" accounts that only follow you for you to follow them back and then proceed to completely mute your account. They only care about their followers liking their posts but don't care to interact in anyway with the people the follow. Then in a few weeks/months they'll unfollow you anyway.

When I see these types of obvious parasitic accounts follow me now I just block them instead of wasting any further time with them.

For some reason I have fantasies about deleting my art account because I feel like it's going nowhere (had it about a year now and still less than 150 followers) and I feel like I should probably spend more time focusing on improving than obsessing how many likes/RTs I get.

But then I wonder if the lack of any "positive" feedback through likes on my art will ruin my motivation to draw.

>> No.3911919

Your high you used to get from getting all those hits with the likes and faves wears off and you become tolerant to the point you need more to get you that dopamine boost you used to get. At this point you become enlightened that these views are all a farce unless you're making capital which is very difficult - out of the thousands of views/likes you may probably get less than a percent of those who would patronize you.

Or the community gets so cancerous you cannot stomach it anymore and leave, personally haven't bothered making another profile in five years due to the amount of cancer that's out there.

i think they're seeing your popular posts (bc they follow you), but choose to like the shitty doodles instead. my line of thinking with this is if i interact with posts that have less likes, the artist will have a higher chance of noticing it (i.e. me) and it's easier to open up a conversation. as opposed to it getting lost in the flood of notes from a popular post. it's kind of like saying "hey, i see you and support even your crappiest drawings."

What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
I have a bunch of mutuals from /ic/ who draw nsfw in my followed list, but I have them all muted because I don't want nsfw in my feed and I never put likes on nsfw art. Does that mean that people who land on my page see nsfw stuff? Is this only a thing where you and a bunch of people you follow also follow the same nsfw person? This is incredibly retarded.

I think it happens with accounts you've interacted recently. If you keep on checking person A's page or like/RTing his posts, you're bound to see more of his likes, rt and follows on your TL. If you haven't checked person B's tweets in a while, they most likely won't show up on your TL. That's how Twitter algorithm works I think

Since I live on the opposite side of the world, I usually browse when most of my western followers are sleeping. They're less likely to see my nsfw likes

I don't think this would apply to this Anon. I found that Simon guy's Twitter and his follow/follower ratio is like 300/4000. It's still possible to keep in track with the art of the people you follow if you're following only a few hundred people. When you follow thousands of people though the only way they'll probably see your art is if you're a popular artist who gets hundreds of RTs Everytime you post art.

If any of you get followed by who has almost an equal ratio of thousands to thousands of following/followers, refer to this post. >>3911789 It's probably just a shill bot account that you're better off just blocking.

Would still be a + having Anons follow you because when you post your work here and they know who you are thus they will be prone to shit on you when they're here since they have the protection of Anonymity.
>posting on twitter
there lies the problem. Twitter is for the most users, about consuming media and rarely involving themselves with it.
But if you are a beginner, you want as much feedback as possible from anyone who sees your work.
Such passive socials are for already established artists/professionals who can shit out good work on a regular basis.

Holy shit. That's why I don't need to shill my own blog to /ic/. Don't you get it? If I want crits, I'd just post it here or on discord servers, and that's that. I don't need an additional step of shilling it in /ic/. Having /ic/ as followers or people I follow on my twitter also messes my account's algorithm because I then get shown unfinished sketches #138174719294, and then get referred similar accounts as well. Meanwhile, I'm on the road to comic-making and I want the absolute amount of non-bot-like people I can get to consume my products. Why are you stuck on the idea that I don't want /ic/ criting me?
