Definitely a hobby for some, but you’re flat out wrong if you think you can’t make a living off of it. Even bad-ish illustrators can make enough to support themselves and the job opportunities in the art world are the biggest they’ve ever been. You don’t have to “make it” in the sense of being famous to make a decent living from making art.

I know you’re just trolling but these sort of self loathing threads are so common. Sometimes people need to be reminded that pursuing a path in life that’s based on what you want to to do is admirable and brave and worthy of respect even if you fail. It’s not something to sneer at and to do so comes from a bitter, backwards place. It’s a classic trait that when we’re unhappy and bitter to want to inflict that on others. OP should examine why they make threads like this in the first place.

At the end of the day life is devastatingly short, and it’ll all come to a death induced forever-nothing anyway. Life an absurd dream and if you think about you don’t truly have anything to lose by trying to live how you want.
