Nothing was risked and nothing was gained.

It's sad that you don't know the difference of what true artist are.

How ironic your post is.
There are multiple anime/manga styles, you would call them generic, but there is literally only one style of realism, and that's called... realism. It either looks like the real thing, or you missed the mark. In other words, generic.

Sorry that you've been replaced by phone cameras. I'll throw some money your way when I need to commission some pseudo-realism furry art.

You know what, maybe there's a reason when you're drawing realism, you draw eyes to look like eyes and not a fucking penis. Because that's how eyes are supposed to look. I don't give a fuck if you think that's generic. No one thinks you're special.

I think it really depends on what do you want out of art. If you want to tell a story, anime is superior. If you want to make something pretty, realism is better.

How disingenuous. If you're going to be that loose with the term "same face," then you could practically accuse just about anything of "same face."

I'm not dumb enough to accuse all faces of looking the exact same, but the differences are so minor and insignificant that it all starts to melt into each other. Artists that suffer from a certain degree of sameface have an overreliance on hairstyle, hair color and eyecolor. Sometimes they also make sure their characters all look like they are stuck in one particular emotion they always express to some degree with their face to hide sameface. This dosen't completely kill certain artpieces for me, it just amkes them less memorable than they could be. It's kind of a shame.

Semi realism has the benefits of look satisfactory to create while looking highly skilled to the average viewer, It only simplifies by not adding in 100% real time rendering and finer details like pores, skin patches, individual hairs etc.

If an artist can achieve photo realism from scratch without a reference they have basically mastered human anatomy.

stylized art can look interesting but majority of the time it is used by people simply breaking the rules of anatomy instead of mastering them to a point where then can bend the rules, this results in the infamous "my style" excuse when critiqued.

Takeuchi might be one of the only artists where sameface is actually a legit criticism and not just the artist drawing the sameface because they find it pretty while still being able to draw it from other angles. He just can't draw any other face or the saberface from any other angle and even the males have the exact same face, except when they're a gaijin or old man in which case the face has some random wrinkles and geometric nose neither of which could possibly have been stylized from anything that exists in reality. Wada's saber and nero look like completely unrelated people compared to any saberface made by Takeuchi.
