How do I avoid this?

I don't have a ton of sexual dimorphism in my art other than the obvious, but I'm also not into super masculine men, so I don't know.
My advice is to just draw more guys and familiarize yourself with the masculine form. If that's too gay for you make them girlie to suit your tastes but don't forget you're drawing a man.

If you know what makes a generally attractive masculine cartoon "face", I think it becomes easier to draw them.

Note the squared chin shape/defined jaw, the strong nose and its bridge, the thicker eyebrows, and the thicker neck. Facial hair can help but isn't necessary
