3866895 No.3866895 [Reply] [Original]

Article 13 passed in Europe, for those of you who don't know Article 13 filters copyrighted content and fines the domains hosting the copyrighted content if the domain does not remove the copyrighted material even if users posted it themselves. What would this mean for the fan made art in Europe? Are we witnessing the deaths of fandoms and the birth of OC fags?

What would this mean for the trendhoppers such as the bowsette fags who create fanart made copyrighted content in Europe? Is the gravy train over?

As much as we don't like fanart, it sets a precedent that is very dangerous to the freedom of expression by further censoring your creativity if it is deemed too similar to a copyrighted material. How would the EU distinguish moeblobs that practically look the same if one of them is copyrighted?

Whoa, it's like, you have to put in effort now.
>Are we witnessing the deaths of fandoms and the birth of OC fags?
No. We will just witness slower social media growth for artists since normies will not bother with "non-fanart."
>What would this mean for the trendhoppers such as the bowsette fags who create fanart made copyrighted content in Europe? Is the gravy train over?
People will find a way to go around this.
You can still sell privately but, ya can't wave your porn of X anime around to get followers.
So, trendhoppers who shit out fanart will die off.
Personally, i do not mind the complete ban of copyrighted content since i don't post my work on any social media and i like drawing my own stuff.

Also, copyright law is more complex than:
>You can't post this stuff because it belongs to someone
>ON THE INTERNET

Dude fanart is the only way to sell. When I was way shittier at drawing I made fanart of things I wasn't interested in for the sake of getting views, the fanart was terrible and insincere and I got hundreds of notes when I used to get none at all. I could open up commissions. I quit doing fanart since then and now only I draw original content, I'm 10x better at drawing and my ideas are heartfelt, like I put all of my passion into it, and when I post drawings that take me days of hard work I get 3 likes tops. Imagine this situation, and you feel pressured to, y'know, eat.
It's absolutely shit that you have to trend hop like mad, sell fanart, and pander to people in general, but that's just how it is. Nobody cares about your original content, at this point not even porn is a guarantee if it's not fanart, and the chances that you somehow get popular with your comic are one in a million and often completely independent from the quality of your work.

If i had my own domain and wanted to lower the risk of getting sanctioned due to my users uploading content they shouldn't then, of course this is a bad move.
Most people don't even think about why every major social media was shilling the whole Anti-article 13 propaganda.
It's because it will heavily slow down their activities since even the world's whole population couldn't create as much original content in one month as all the stuff that gets uploaded on youtube in a day.
>This could lead to a lot worse.
If any state/government would want to ban any type of expression, they'd do it.
Who's gonna stop them?
People who are forced to work 24/7 and can't even bother to catch up to current events? Which make 70% of most civilized countries tot population.
The 10% who consist of minors, unemployed youth and social rejects, who get willfully ignored because they are valued as less than nothing?
Or the 20% retarted faggots who can't think outside their allowed intellectual capacity?

People ain't gonna do shit except adapt and exploit any given sets of rules.
This is going to be the same. And when laws don't work, they get changed.
This whole hysteria around this subject is just another business trick to get people to side with the big names so they can keep making money off whatever greyzone actiivity they are living on.

If a country wants to go to war, it doesn't matter what the people want.
Soldier must follow orders or they will be accused of treason.
And the average Joe might voice his concern but, what will he do? Nothing.
Because the average citizen can't be actively bothered to follow and enforce greater justice.
You only have a right to live because you either pay taxes, consume products that enrich others thus they pay more taxes or you are just a gear in the big capitalism machine.
Nobody has freedom, everyone is just allowed to be by the higher ups. And how they allow you things, they can prohibit things.

royalties shouldnt be a think in the first place, or copyrights for that matter

they are the leftover of an era where every joe could copy a new invention, so copy rights were made to protect inventors which would had not bother putting in the effort to come up with an invention in the first place, whats the point if its going to get stoled anyway?

but now copy rights became a tool of protecting monopolies, not new inventors. If you have a bright new idea you will need to sell that idea to a big company anyway to put into practice, because creating something nowadays its impossible without a few factories behind you

in the creative field its even worst. nobody carries about your OC or how good it is if you dont do anything with it. They care about the entertainment you can offer thru that OC. They care about the story, the gameplay, the visuals. The characters are only tools to deliver and enhance that. And if somebody uses your OC for something, usually they do it to deliver their own form of entertainment, which might not even be in the same field of the original format.

You dont tarnish a product by making your own version of it, you tarnish a product by sabotaging the original product before it reaches its clients.

Just because you don't give a shit about the consequences of your actions, doesn't mean what you did hurt no one.
Maybe what you alone did, made no difference but, since the world is full of faggots like you, you need to get real and think about how this specific action might play out on a much larger scale.
If one guy was chopping a tree, the forest will still stand.
If thousands of people were chopping up trees, the forest would be no more.
Your solopsism isn't an argument.
Also, you need to pay your royalties since you made money off copyrighted material that isn't yours and have no legal connection with whatsoever.
But most big companies don't go after individuals because it isn't worth the time and money.
That's why we're getting Article 13.
