Can't seem to go out of my way to find good cartoonists that I can learn from. All that comes up is this, and I'm pretty sure they're considered the same thing but I loathe this style of drawing with a passion. But it's the only thing that seems to come up with the exception of a few. It's a bit frustrating, so if you guys know any really good artists who focus specifically on cartoon character design give me a heads up.

I mean the reason I started the thread was to give myself good references and take the elements that I like from others and practice them at different angles, poses, etc. until I understand how to draw them.
I'd say you reverse image search the artist, find similar artists, figure out how they would draw the features in those different situations, then paste it to your mind, experiment without the reference, come back to it when you're confused. Do it for months and months until you get it, then refine it further when you take elements from others.

I'm /beg/ though, if you couldn't tell already, so take it with a grain of salt.

That's the worst thing about it. I have no idea what vocabulary to use. All I know is cartoony.
I guess it could include westaboos, disney, literally anything that looks cartoony. I'm not sure what to say or how to describe it. I wish there were categories so that I could easily look for the type of artists I want, but it's mostly meaning anything with exaggerated features, shapes, shape language, big eyed, small-eyed, big bodied, small bodied, anything. Literally doesn't matter.

I guess a good word to use is stylized?

Nah, I started a year ago, so I'm not good at anime at all. I've just been practicing my fundamentals and anatomy. Lately I've been trying to understand how to draw anime and cartoons. I want to expand my visual library, that way I can define my style more easily down the road.

Well >>3836511 at least looks like a style developed to take advantage of line economy, but they clearly have a solid grasp of the fundamentals as well as how to exaggerate. It's essentially extended caricature with gesture.
Other pictures itt seem to simplify or exaggerate proportions to suit the characters' personality, so it's really just cartooning. I'm sure there are books on that in the share thread.

Oh, draw from life, then copy cartoonists you like and pay attention to the way they abstract parts of the body, then draw from life again but try to apply the abstractions of the cartoonists you studied from. Also draw from imagination too. Also draw a fucking lot.

Nothing if you keep thinking like this. Go to youtube and search up tutorials on it. You'll literally get nowhere at this point. If you're asking this many questions then you're not at the point where you should be asking how to copy a style. Fucking draw the shit. Copy it. Copy it. Copy it. Copy the damn drawing you want to replicate. Doesn't matter how bad it is. Eventually you'll get more confident. There's no specific way to copy it. As you get more comfortable you'll eventually be able to ask these questions.

Read up on books like 'perspective mad easy' for perspective and micheal hampton for gesture, structure and anatomy. Find videos on youtube to help you with proportion and copy them. Just fucking copy them. Draw the shit and stop overthinking everything like I did when I started. DRAW IT DRAW IT DRAW IT COPY IT COPY IT COPY IT AND THEN COME BACK AFTER A FEW DAYS OF COPYING AND GETTING COMFOrTABLE NOT CONSTANTLY ASKING QUESTIONS.

I have a question regarding cartoonist education. How well do they know the anatomy and all that stuff? I know they studied it, but to what extent?
If I asked a professional cartoonist to draw a realistic bodybuilder for example, will they be able to do that?
