Last night. Looking at it with fresh eyes, it's not actually that impressive, and it could be tighter in a few places, but I still like it

You need to see the painting in real life to really "get it", it really doesn't translate well online or as a picture taken with camera

On a daily basis pretty much, there's just too much good stuff out there. It's sad that I'll probably never see all of it

I was immpressed recently on a local Art school, but David from Michelangelo has impressed me the most, the first time I saw it my heart stopped for a second

Direct interface with the Supreme. Divine inspiration and intercession that exalts Creation is all that's left. Might count as drugs these days.

I didn't expect it to be so large ( 2.5x2m) and it really hits you directly in your heart how glorious the Madonna looks. Never experienced that I got goosebumps and watery eyes from a painting

Wow, and direct eye contact with the little fellows too.
Is that a St Michael on the left?

Every time I go to the Nation in London I find new paintings that hit me over the head. Nothing compares to seeing them in the flesh. I saw the Monet architecture exhibit recently, with all the Rouen cathedral pics. A selection of them lined up on the wall, I did the artist thing and stood real close, looking at the brushwork, the technique, the colours etc. Didn't like them as much as his 1860's stuff, but they were ok.
Sat on the central seating for a rest (it was very hot) with my back to them. Let the crowds pass for a while, and on turning back I was gobsmacked by them. They had to work together, from a distance; They looked amazing, like a psychedelic melody. Up close, they just didn't mean the same.
