I calculated she has 30ish patients, each one she visits for 15 minutes, 8 hours a day, $100 per visit. (I can tell because some appointment times are like 12:15 vs 12:30) etc. but she often spends longer than that for each patient, such as 30 to 45 minutes. Theres a lot of websites and apps dedicated to learning a language that already have a streak implemented into them. Some of them you may already even be using and most are definitely easier to count your streak compared to DAD.
Doesn't really make sense to try and hijack one of the only if not THE only website for art streaks for yourself when theres already literally hundreds of resources for what you're looking for that are more suited for ya. Just let us have this one, ya know?

No one's banned yet simply because I haven't implemented the tribunal yet. But I'm working on it, due to the feedback from the last poll and the consistency of the topic being broached. Life is just getting in the way, a little bit. Mostly because I was coughing my guts out in the last five days.

I did make a point of saying that DAD is named "Do Art Daily" for the sake of not being exclusionary to various means of art (though the primary focus and ethos has always been visual). This includes 3d modeling, animation, sculpture, collage and MAYBE writing (you are really skirting the line if you're using this for music, game dev, aesthetic theoretical mathematics or upper-echelon cooking). To drive this point home, LAS was home to a sculptor that had a two week stint on the sight, as well as 3d modelers (we had a challenge for it, which was neat). That being said, pretty sure learning Kanji crosses that line, and then some.

There is more than enough justification for forbidding this stuff on the grounds that it takes away from the integrity of the site, but again, I'm mulling over the possibility of a mirror that's just habit-keeping stuff. I am leaning AGAINST doing that, because it represents a significant time commitment and keeping things focused on art allows the community to be much more focused and directed. It allows us to help each other more meaningfully, rather than having hundreds of people doing random shit and being unable to learn or grow as a group through community.

When I was a teen I did Rosetta Stone and smart.fm so learning Japanese isn't going to be a stranger to me. If you want I can upload my study resources folder for you.

Right now my goal is to learn up to 6000 vocab and complete wk in 1 year and 2 months. Then I'll start reading on lingq and page from visual novels... Should be at a jlpt 2 in 2 years. For Korean I don't know yet I'm seeing what works however I have a feeling I'll learn Korean faster than Japanese sine I don't have to put up with all the chinese characters and can go straight into context after learning the alphabet.

To be absolutely honest, the last few months have been a bit of struggle for me but the past few days I started to enjoy drawing again and without looking at the clock every moment.

I caught 2 kids trying to do it behind a bush in my secret spot near the lake. They make kid was trying to make a makeshift bed for them to lay on. There is a study backed by many experts that writing things down is active learning and helps reinforce what you've learned. I might not be writing my kanji but I learned the kana since middle school by writing it extensively. Still, sometimes I cannot remember katakana when I want to write it by will simply due to the lack of writing practice (which is why I should start writing again). But reading it comes just as natural as English.

i did actually. i wrote notes from my freshman year in highschool to my senior year while everyone was too lazy to try and remember the garbage they fed us because muh highschool years muh youth. i had to literally carry my whole chemistry class because we did't even get lectures from our lazy ass teacher. thats the american system for you, he got fired tho. i still have the notes in my drawer, its only a dozen filled mostly with arbitrary notes since thats the only thing i really did. thats also how i go into art, i started taking notes on color theory and shit for my drawing classes. so yes i would fucking know a thing or two about writing shit down and memorization, and that has hardly anything to do with learning you faggot fairy, trying to understand concepts goes beyond the scope of trying to put shit down on paper.

I haven't done much article reading yet but it's helped me. /jp/ doesn't like those sources but /jp/sies are elitist pricks. I'm going for a build up of vocab first and grammar then I'll go straight to lingQ to read but it's too early to tell what I'll do. All I know is lingq had bad spacing with Japanese which made it hard to know what grammar was being used. I might not have that issue with Korean, but again I don't know yet.

thanks anon, been a bad week and it's been hard to find the energy to draw.

I'm not even /beg/ tier really if that's even possible so I use bad paper because it feels like a waste to use good materials on bad art. I should probably step it up though, at least for the one-time challenges.

I understand how you feel but that kind of thinking only makes you work tense, being afraid to 'waste' good materials might be economical but it will make it harder to take risks and thus hamper your growth. Don't be afraid to experiment, you need the experience. Don't look at it as wasting but more as a certain investment. (depending on how serious you are about art, this shouldn't really be a problem, right?)
Good tools don't make a good artist, but bad tools can cause unnecessary struggle, please keep that in mind.
For example, I've been dabbling in watercolor on-and-off, having low quality paper can make your art unnecessarily ugly because not all papers handle water well. The paper warps and fibers loosen up when you go over the same spot a bit too often, it quickly turns into an unholy mess out of your control.

Maybe, especially for a beginner, it can be very frustrating if you have to 'fight' your tools when you are supposed to be learning with them.
