It's worth noting that of the popular academic instructors constantly recommended here, Loomis is the most successful in the field of commercial art. He had the longest and most prolific career, albeit largely forgotten compared to his books.

Doesn't mean he's the best, also doesn't mean his books are the best. But his writings are uniquely informed by his real world work experience, rather than a purely fine art or academic perspective.

Based on how much people masturbate to Loomis here, I'm very surprised there isn't a study group for Loomis material here, why don't you start a Discord group for it?

I actually just bought Fig Drawing for All it's Worth and Drawing the Head and Hands, I went through Fun with a Pencil when I started but never bothered to read the rest of his work, hope I learn some new things with this, especially portraits.

No, learn the basic shapes and how to free hand them into perspective, then you can move onto the other loomis books, head first since figures will always look like shit if you have no idea how to draw a head. Face is generally the main focal point. Learn how to sharpen a pencil and use it more akin to a brush.
