specifying dpi is only useful for print, right? you can't ask for an image that's 1000x1000px 200 dpi since dpi and image resolution aren't separable like that, correct?

How much do you learn in a day, is there anyway you can measure your progress ?

>> No.3746493

you develop a habit by forcing yourself to do it until you do it without forcing yourself to anymore. There's no way to just "give" yourself a habit, it's something that's learned.

you measure your progress by comparing your art to your older art.

That's how you burn out and quit. If you want to draw more then you need a) motivation, and b) you need to change your mindset, when you draw you are focused on what you are doing. You need to learn to love learning in order to love drawing and painting. You can't have one without the other. Trying to get a fixed schedule can help you draw more but you won't do it unless you do what's been previously said.

You're right I believe. You have to know what size they want to print it at or whatever it'll be used for. 1k x 1k at 200 dpi would mean 5x5 inches. As a digital artist you're more concerned about pixel resolution as dpi really doesn't matter while you work. You'd multiply the print size by dpi and those would be your pixel dimensions.

>When you share a photo on Instagram, regardless of whether you're using Instagram for iOS or Android, we make sure to upload it at the best quality resolution possible (up to a width of 1080 pixels).
>When you share a photo that has a width between 320 and 1080 pixels, we keep that photo at its original resolution as long as the photo's aspect ratio is between 1.91:1 and 4:5 (a height between 566 and 1350 pixels with a width of 1080 pixels). If the aspect ratio of your photo isn't supported, it will be cropped to fit a supported ratio. If you share a photo at a lower resolution, we enlarge it to a width of 320 pixels. If you share a photo at a higher resolution, we size it down to a width of 1080 pixels.

I've followed these directions and still gotten some cropped images but try to keep that aspect ratio in mind.

draw some a polygon or appealing shape, fit a person in it. or use a big loose brush and then gradually refine it.

For Bridgman's books, is it really that important to buy the individual books or can you get away with buying one of the Complete Guide compendiums? I know there are a few editions, any thoughts on which version is best?

I have heard people say that the compendiums leave out some information but if it's just a few snippets, I'm okay with that. If it's leaving out whole chapters from other books though, that's less than ideal.

I would prefer to have physical copies over PDFs.
