I actually work in a psychiatric hospital and he is not scizhophrenic. He has bpd (borderline personality disorder). These are the people with social issues, like needy girlfriends that flip out when they don't get their emotional needs satisfied. Basically it's when a person has emotional issues that are based on social interaction. So anyone that has problems that can only be "solved" by others, like need for attention, need for comfort, need for admiration, etc are bpd people. Think people with emotional holes that can only be filled by other people. inb4 jimmy comes with his superior definitons of bpd. he has bpd.

Yeah I think I could probably ham it up and meet the criteria for it. The thing doctors have suggested before was that I kind of fall into the Personality Disorder Not Otherwise Specified category. Also have some narcissistic and antisocial traits and family herstory. Plus I have a lot of traits that are kind of more connected to cluster C personality disorders like Avoidant (diagnosed once) and Obsessive-Compulsive. But there's also some schizotypal memes in there with my weird rules and worldview and stuff, but that's always kind of clashing with the possibility that I'm just just-the-tip deep into the autism spectrum. Plus we shouldn't really disregard the fact that a lot of what motivates me is kind of a histrionic and self-defeating/masochistic impulse. It's a lot of traits from a lot of different diagnoses, while not necessarily meeting the diagnostic criteria for any of them, while still being unambiguously disordered by the whole gestalt of them working together.

I think a lot of people don't actually care all that much about the topic at all. They care a lot about having something to fight about tho. In my speariance a lot of the time it's pretty clear that the person entered the thread looking for a reason to talk shit. And then once they take a side they become married to it for the thread, or at least until they get flustered, stop posting for a day, and come back samefagging as someone new with a different thing to argue about.

Like you can kind of tell when you're talking to someone that's just there for the cockfight. If they want to shitpost they'll find a weigh. Doesn't matter what you seigh or how you engage with them, their goal is disingenuous. Anything you say will be treated like the most lecherous thing a person could ever say.

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing. My issue is that when you say "debate," what you generally mean is 2 people making anonymous personal attacks at each other and bitching about nonsense entirely unrelated to the subject of the thread. If you dare try and have an argument AND post your work or any means to identify who is talking, you can essentially guarantee that the other person is going to make everything about who you are and entirely ignore what you're saying. And then because of that everyone just posts with no pic related out of fear of being identified, making threads boring walls of narcissistic text between angry virgins projecting their angst at strangers.

But yeah you do speak the tru tru. Nobody is ever willing to just "yes and" with anyone else's memes or anything. There are so few people that are willing to be encouraging or positive or empathetic with their "critique" that you start to assume that any overly-nice response to someone's drawing is probably just them samefagging.

I mean my second major was in psychology. Was raised by 2 diagnostic child psychologists. Spent a lot of time studying personality disorders and mental illness to better understand myself and my family and people in general and stuff. Plus when I've spent a good amount of time back when I had insurance talking to different types of therapists and stuff about all of these memes. I probably have a slightly better idea of my mental health profile than someone that's seen a few of muh posts.

Yeah but this isn't ONLY a borderline meme. Particularly not when histrionic PD is a thing. Like Borderline people will take too many pills and "attempt" suicide if they think their spouse is going to leave them. It's much less about basic interaction and attention with random people, and more about intense, intimate dependency on specific people. I just like having text-generators to give me things to think about. It's honestly more of a means to stay productive and focused on work by creating the perception that people are watching or rooting against me or something.
