Most of my favorite artists are japanese, that's the reason. I don't care much about Pixiv and all that, I just want to draw more like Minaba or Yoshida, I think what they do is really clean and inspiring.
Though I'm still far from it, still going through the Loomis phase. Haven't attempted an anime face in months now.

The only thing I really want from "anime style" is the action. Like what Murata does in OPM.

Overall I like the western comic look more - Ben McSweeny, Lipatov, Tradd Moore (he is not as traditional but his lineart is great and his action is almost on par with Murata, mostly being hampered by lower number of pages not the actual skill).

I was inspired to draw by Hergé, I loved reading TinTin, especially his later works, like TinTin goes to the moon, and Rockhams Treasure.

You're just trying to render life, either way. I never understood why people would just draw anime when you can experiment with other styles too, and ideally get a more pleasing result., even if it is anime derived.

Not at all, learn some history. It's just fags from france wanting to be somehow close to the nips, but it's pretty one sided. Japan has exchange programs with literally anyone.

fuck no. That's China, followed by Korea, Taiwan and other asian countries, then US and various European countries. Also the number of online only readers (fan subs) is immense, and far bigger in poorer countries of the world, which basically makes them one of the biggest audiences for Japanese manga.

I find it to be an extremely visually appealing style and its more attractive to look at than most western styles.

I do like when it has a more realistic tinge to it though.

that works too, but there's a few other differences as well.
but disney style is also really appealing, I loved how elsa and anna looked or the girls in big hero 6. but the proportions and shapes are just slightly off, and while nice, isn't quite as nice as anime shit.

I've read manga my entire life. It's what I know and what I love.
