So your first objective is to get 1000 followers. That's not too far of a stretch. So here, follow these steps. I'm not even memeing, just do the following:

2. Get better. You mentionned your art is shit. Instead of complaining and being retarded, fucking draw. Do studies. Do finished pieces. Draw.
3. Upload regularly (duh), on several platforms. But there's more to it. Don't post unfinished shit, only clean, finished art. It really is important, post only the best things you can, no rough sketches or stuff like that... Look at the biggest patreon whores or artists with the biggest followings. They don't do that. It maintains an illusion of "talent" in the eyes of normalfags, and builds up a nice gallery to look at. People like that. Do that, they'll follow you.
4. Take opportunities when they arise. Do art collabs with other artists who have some sort of following. Hot tip, suck the cock of bigger artists, if you ask bigger artists to look at your stuff "because they inspired you" chances are they'll like/retweet your stuff. Don't do it too much or people will catch on.
5. Wait. You're not going to get famous overnight. You know it, you're not dumb, are you? Are you anon?

it doesnt look that bad, if you want to draw manga or anime style people firstly focus on real people. Doodling ppl around me helped me whole bunch, as well as just looking up some refs and drawing those. Basics are knowing how those things work in real life before you heavily stylize it

I don't know your level or in what style you're drawing, how far you try to render etc. but if you're still /beg/, your paintings will probably look shit for some time before you find your footing. When you feel like you can't add more or that adding would take away more than it adds to the artwork, stop.

Twitter, Instagram are the biggest at the moment. There's also Facebook, Tumblr (deceasing a bit lately), DeviantArt. It never hurts to post on all of them, WITH TAGS!! very important.

Do you know who ONE is? The guy who made One Punch man. He certainly didn't wait, look where that got him. If you want to do comics, get in there, do it, work your ass off to create something (you) find acceptable.

About the style, I can't really help you much there anon, all I can say is, be genuine. As long as your style isn't ultra out-there, it will have the potential to appeal to most people. Draw what you love, unironically.
About the subject matter... Draw what's trendy. It works. Bowsette, etc., tag properly.

It's really good to do studies anon. That's for you to balance... If you can manage to create nice looking studies that are good enough to post online, that'd be the best of both worlds.

0. Realize that learning to see is one of the most important aspects of drawing
1. Analyze work you like and want to emulate
2. Copy that work exactly
3. Compare your copy to the original
4. If it doesn't look right, fix it until it does. Developing your eye is critical to drawing well. Eventually your drawings will be more and more accurate in less time.
5. Take mental notes on what works and what doesn't. In other words, analysis, self reflection, experimentation, and honesty about your own work and what you need to improve.
6. Repeat 1 through 5 until shit starts making sense.

Pay close attention to number 0 and 4. Paying a tutor won't help you learn to see, which is what you have to do to learn how to draw. Learning to see comes from practicing your ability to accurately draw accurately and proportionally draw from life or reference. You don't need to pay someone for that. Try the Bargue course if you want to learn. Then you can do whatever you want.

I was actually just watching that video on that very site after googling what you said. What I'm aiming at though is more like the in-between style of stuff. I should have said in the beginning, I do in fact draw animu shit, but I want it to look less animu but I don't know how to make it so because I can't render at all. I'm trying a chalk brush but not making much progress just by trial and error. This is honestly very helpful already though. Definitely going to incorporate this into my works but I want to nail down drawing better looking anime shit because that's what's gonna satisfy me. Plus when business is slow at my job I'll be able to take on commissions for a reasonable price.

I did kind of figure out one thing, I think. Am I supposed to add a bottom layer of flat color and then chalk in a lighter/darker color? Because the entire time I've been doing only chalk

Figure drawing > line work > base colors on new layers > clipping masks on base colors > giant soft brush to airbrush in shadows in your base color shapes
Experiment with that flow. I have no idea what kind of anime you draw, but you can do basically anything like that. I only tried this one "study" for shits and giggles and I never draw anime, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I haven't ever tried using them yet myself because I never care enough to make a shitton of masks but those soft air brushes always looks so crisp after just a single stroke. pedagogically i think this is almost teaching a bad lesson. people tend to blend too much instead of preserving hard edges. yes the hard edges are flat but one should learn the rules of when shadows are flat near the object casting the shadow versus being far away as opposed to being told "softer is better lol"
