I will Sumarize Watts Atelier Head Phase 1 and 2.

1.-Draw the loomis head (look proko for free)
2.-Draw a skull front view, 3/4 and profile
3.-Memorise a simple azaro had 3/4, front view and profile
4.-Memorize the Reily method
5.-Memorize The azaro had

He tries you to buy models of the skull, an azaro, from the azaro head guy but you can find 3d models for free on the internet.

There I saved you $100 bucks a month. You don't even need to watch the videos as Jeff just draws without giving any extra info.

I don't doubt other courses I didn't see are good. but yeah. I still don't get why people pay him that much.

Watts is fine if you're paying for the feedback and live weekly sessions. The videos rips off cgpeers isn't going to get you anywhere because all you have are initial lessons you Brainlet. The same for pretty much any online classes you rip, it's all useless because you will run into many frustrations that could be answered by the teacher.

OP is not entirely wrong.

Got the torrents off cgpeers and going through Head Phase I now. Jeff's rambling has nothing to do with the lesson and what he's drawing 99% of the time (you can tell he's kinda insecure despite his accomplishments as a professional artist, made me feel a bit sad for him). The videos are useful for seeing the intermediary steps in drawing though: thing like realizing that you start an Asaro head with what's essentially a Loomis lay-in really helped me, as stupid as that sounds.

Several hours of that is just Jeff reclining on his antique leather chair while he quotes from the Art Spirit, his eyes glistening as he slowly dabs them with his imported red velvet handkerchief. He's deffenitley not insecure, he seems very down to earth and just wants to pass on everything he's learned to other artists. Talk about his ramblings but I like them a lot, I find a lot of the philosophy he talks is interesting and he's good at keeping you motivated and shows that even masters arnt perfect and are also fixing lines and other mistakes too. Hes been teaching for over 25 years and the artists that come out of his school are phenomenal.

Jeff's pep talks might be useful for young teens or fuck-ups who toke all day in their parents' basements. If you've got your shit reasonably together like any normal person, he's costing you $$$ to tell you obvious things about life that you know already, in a condescending (but sincere) way at that.

It's pretty arrogant to style himself as some kind of life coach/philosophical guru, dispensing unsolicited, self-evident "advice", when people are paying him for drawing instruction, because, you know, that's what he does for a living. It actually would be ok if he talked about the lesson mostly and rambles a bit, but he does the inverse.

Still, no doubt he has the drawing/painting chops, so his shit it totally worth pirating. The lack of crit means you have to think for yourself, which shouldn't be an issue unless you have room temp IQ or are an absolute novice at drawing.

This guy might have a stutter but he's a top artist enough to be tolerated as an instructor despite his disability and he is bilingual, besides. You can't even make it through a 20 minute lecture, let alone live like that. Soft-ass nigga, this is why you're not going to ma-m-m-ma-ma-m-m-m-make it, faggot!

Crab spotted.
He literally talks about art and how to git good. It has nothing to do with "obvious things about life". But if you think this is "obvious things about life" than why do you even need guide to learn how to draw? It is pretty obvious. Learning how to draw is most obvious things about life.

He gets you in the mood to do art, he's explained his techniques and showed you how to do them in the drawing fundamentals, why would he keep repeating this information if you can go back to it or should already know it. If you can't follow what he's doing when he draws then that's your fault.

That's why you just download the workbooks and save the space. Once you've gone through the fundamentals and maybe Head Phase 1 you know exactly what the demos are and don't need the videos for drawing. two good demos in the first and then he picks up a pencil at that timestamp there. if you're not getting feedback it's really not worth it.
