Used wacoms can go for pretty cheap, there's not much to break on them aside from the USB port.
The intuos 4 line still holds up pretty well today, if I was on a budget I'd look for a good condition used intuos 4 medium or large.

She looks like a girl named Brenda that I know at work. Funny thing Brenda could have been a childhood friend like in NY animes since she lived literally in the same gated community as me. I used to ride my bike with my cousin all over the neighborhood every weekend. Good times....

Christ. Also, agreed with wacom, I’ve had a pretty good experience with it. I use an intuos draw right now but I think any intuos model will do the job. If you buy a new one, they also come with drawing software if you’re into that.

Clip studio Paint or Photoshop.

I suggest clip studio paint if you're just into illustration, especially since your new. You can do most if not all your work with clip studio paint and photoshop if you feel like your missing something, so far haven't had a reason for photoshop yet.

Here's some free brushes I reccomend.

Main brush i use for pretty much everything, and I just Ink with the included g-pen in CSP.

Perfect Pencil
https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=1712564

Flat
https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=1702959

I use this for sketching thumbnails.

Another reason why I use clip studio paint is I can use the included 10GB cloud to freely switch between my desktop ( using an xp pen deco) and my ipad pro; also having the same software on both platforms is very comfy.

Man, I really wonder what her feet look like now. I would pay for a picture of her making this face, with her bare feet in the camera

How do I draw such a conventionally attractive face such as this? I find it hard to capture this smug aura.

The biggest hurdle to getting into digital art and using a tablet is getting used to looking at the screen in front of you and drawing. There are shit tons of huions and wacoms on amazon's black friday sales.
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Friday/ The deals vary by country and last friday or so all the wacoms were 10-15% off on the uk site.

On the US site, here's a search through black friday deals with huion tablets.
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dblack-friday&field-keywords=huion
If you scroll down, some of them that aren't on ssale have coupons that you can apply to the item. You just have to keep clicking them to add them until it show up in your cart.

If you have a university near you, they will stock graphics tablets there. Every year they have to get rid of stock and will put them usually 25% off. Check the university's campus store sites near you.

Clip studio paint is very very overwhelming with the amount of things it can do and there's a steep learning curve. Wait until the Pro version goes on sale for $20-$25. Don't bother with basic or EX.
Firealpaca is a simple free program and it's good if you want to try some things out. It also runs on Mac.
http://firealpaca.com/

Also any amazon listing will go through price cycles, camelcamelcamel.com allows you to create an alert for the item. When it goes below a certain price point, it sends you an email. (they make money off affiliate links so just remove garbage from the url on any links you click from there.)

I'f you want a tablet with a display I've had a good while using the XP-Pen 16, p good in quality, hella nice range of colors and it's affordable. If you're getting something like it opt for the 15.6 (newer version).
Otherwise you can try the huion tablets or something as cheap as the wacom bamboo to get used to the feel of drawing with a tablet.
>>3686672
Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 is a solid choice with some good features added recently. Sai2 is also another good one for painterly things.
Heard lotta good things about CSP but didn't like it personally.

dont go wacom, shits way too fucking expensive for beginners and their entry level tablets are trash tier. i saw someone using what looks like an intuos but it was a parblo then i looked it up and the parblo was 10x6, 50 bucks, an intuos thats like 12x8 is like 200 bucks

Wondering about XP Pen versus Huion

I am looking at the Kamvas Pro 12 that is up for preorder and releasing Nov 26th, I could get that and it would be $300 or I could go get the XP-Pen 12 for like $200. Thing is I use Krita and only the Huion is compatible with it, The Huion one also has pen tilt while the XP Pen does not. Is pen tilt really that important for a beginner or should I just get the chinese shitter because of krita support or just get the XP Pen and pick up Sai/Photoshop? PS will be like $120 by itself.

I was thinking about finally getting a tablet but I'm unsure which one is better.

Do you guys recommend the huion gt191v2 or huion 156v2? I have no idea what most of the specs mean but I've done a bit of research and people are telling me these 2 are the most worth it at my price point.

Seems pretty good for the price.

Anyone else have any experience with this tablet? I bought a Huion 1060 a while ago but dont really like how THICC it is.
