You guys seriously should draw everyday.
Not just sketching. But after sketching something, correct your drawing to the reference using a light box or scales and compasses etc. Don't draw different things randomly. Instead, draw one thing three times. Firstly, draw it with reference. Second time, adjust your drawing to the reference, correcting errors with a red pen. And draw a better sketch just next to it. For the third time, draw it on a piece of blank paper without reference. If the result is not satisfactory, repeat the process from the start.
In a year, You'll improve tremendously. It's just like math problems. You'll never improve copying the correct answer of a math problem everyday. It's necessary for you to solve the problem all by yourself.
Believe me, now I can draw human figure from every angle by imagination.

Turned out meh, I'm still not able to get gestures right. But I did try to adapt the gesture to a cartoon character so I'm happy of going outside my comfort zone, I wondered how it would turn out. Well maybe you need to change the way you look at something. The good news is so long you can spot mistakes on what you do, you have clues on what you should be focusing to improve. It's scarier to think you not seeing anything wrong yet everyone disliking it! Then you should worry. Or maybe they are out to get you, ha ha.
My advice is learn to fail, accept something won't be easy and won't come out great from the start, and that you will have to make corrections or do the best you can at this point and keep on working to do better in the future.

What you're saying is sound but your results are so lacking. Makes me wonder if you're trying at all. The drawings show you aren't, or you've misunderstood something very important. Next time you draw, try to focus on getting things exact, you really need to build up your accuracy. You know the drill, use plumblines, neg. shapes etc to draw accurately. With your current skill level it will take you some time because of how many mistakes you will make. You want to get faster, stop making those errors in perception and thereby 'see' more accurately. By building up that skill, anything else you try to learn will be that much easier.
