Yes. They are, but people actually try to reason with him- they say that he basically stole someone else work, painted a sword on top and called it his own work. Didn't even credit the original author. Darek then proceeds to act like a angry child- literally. Totally unprofessional. He is lucky whole thing happens in Polish, because if everyone could understand Darek's posts he would probably never get a job in the industry again. You can actually see similar behavior on one of early Level Up sessions when two other guys make a bit of fun of Darek's terrible English, after they say "bye" Darek assumes that the stream is over, but you can hear him being pissed off for couple seconds. Also during the session he also got salty couple times for the same reason.

I fucking hate this, this approach to CA is done because you are supposed to push out a huge amount of artwork fast and also the artwork itself isn't supposed to be used as the product! but as a rough guidelines as to where to go with the actual project. Basically the art is to use and throw away, meanwhile you have this people RIPPING OFF 80% of an image with barely any effort adding bits and pieces and putting it on their galleries and whatnot as if it was a full blown illustration they did, not giving a fuck to AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THE ORIGINAL MATERIAL THEY USED. Maybe? Lots of unethical people succeed in life and make lots of money. They're still liars, though. Calling them out isn't being a "crab," it's holding them accountable for lying.

I'm the guy that posted it, and I don't like that too, but at least you can call it effective concept art, like you can tell the mood from it and it gives 3D artists an idea of how to build the environment. I can't say the same with Darek Zabrocki's "art", he obviously takes photos he didn't take himself and added filters and vague "brush strokes" to make it look """painterly""", and that's it. He contributes very little and it baffles me how he gets hired at all.

>> No.3658375

I pushed myself into a hole by learning to photobash over relatively unknown photos and shit. Sometimes it was borderline plagiarism. I knew there was a problem when a client asked for something and i finally declined because there wasn't any reference for what they wanted. I literally had zero imagination on my own.

I look at my work from the past 4-5 years and i'm so ashamed of the artist i've become. I'm just restarting to learn how to properly paint from imagination and being happy with my own ideas instead of comparing to others. I need to learn how to properly be inspired.

I hate artists like this because it makes it seem like my original train of thought is absolutely valid when it is clearly not. Don't do what i did my bros.

Work hard and discover how to create beautiful art, don't take the easy way.

Well, I don't. I think he takes credits for things he didn't actually do himself. If left to his own devices, he is undoubtedly beg-tier. Just look at pic-related, it is something he made for a demo, a live demo , as a professional, to students who want to work in the entertainment industry, and this is the best he can do. I just don't know what I'm reading on this one to be fair, points don't compare equally, like 6? So on the right is good that there's some sense of narrative or action but on left there isn't? So what is the plane crashing onto the island? It's not like the dude running with a pistol and some kind of firefight on the horizon is such a complex narrative compared with the plane.
And then while they are both doing a similar thing but one looks less photographic, labeled as "execution is amateur", is marked as a negative?

Sure, but also you can judge potential employers/clients by the way the express their needs, this one is biased an all over the place, doing a por job of what they actually mean on certain points, for instance, that last "hours" one, I get they want a certain level of polish, but the way it was written sounds awful, so if someone does the same polish but under less time thus not "putting the hours", then it should be considered not within scope specified by that statement and rejected? I know it might be convoluted but you can judge their character bases on the way the expressed themselves and organazied their points, I would see them as trouble down the line desu.

Implying that he cant paint ... his job is not that of an illustrator , he doesnt need to paint everything from scratch for his work , sure you can spend a week on a piece that takes someone 3 hours to photobash color correct and present as a finished piece ,but no one will hire you as a concept artist with that kind of productivity.
