i don't think you used a reference for this, and you should have. her right leg/asscheek is detached from her pelvis almost completely. you've made an attempt to tilt the hips up, but forgot to do the same for the pelvis. i've also re-positioned the left arm for the sake of composition and balance.

her lower body felt weird to draw, because i've never attempted a pose like this, but the references at the bottom helped me piece together a more solid, energetic form.

i honestly just copied the leftmost ref for the foot. the discoloration made it easy to pick out the shapes. i don't have anyone i can recommend off the top of my head, but if i come across any useful tutorials i'll post em up

See the thing is, that we want to be picked. So Chicocalte picks the strongest image from the previous thread to show the other generals how boss we are. As an artist who busts ass, and works hard I live for the day I make it to the OP image. I have made it once in 5 years. I don't care so much after the first time but I know other people who set personal goals for themselves and we all would like to see our stuff featured.

Well, it just depends of what kind of poses you're looking for really. The booru sites are great for anime refs since they have lots of tags. Otherwise you can just write some keywords on google and it will easily give you what you're looking for.

I'd say it's always good to look for references, unless you definitely know what you're drawing.

If I were you I would check anatomical charts and refs for how clavicles work. Once that's done you can lose the two clavicle symbols and add some real shading for them. I would also remove the harsh black shading for the pecs and just make it a dark gray, maybe like the one for the lats.

Well, since there was a lot of anon commenting on the eyes, I felt unsatisfied. So, I decided to fix it. Hoping this is good enough.

Oops, What I meant to say here is that, I've created a seperate layer from the skin and create the shadow from there.
Then I used a smooth brush to adjust the shadow and blend it with the skin.
Sometimes I used a soft eraser instead.

Actually, do you have any tips for this? I have consistent issues with drawing limbs going directly into/out of the page, usually mid-walk cycle. I've done the whole "draw a cylinder in perspective" thing but they usually turn out like above.

sorry my bad i'll remember from now on to add the "h". I wish I could be taught how to draw by him, for now all I can do is reverse engineer his drawings by trying to re create them and analyse his sketches to understand his approach. from what I can understand he constructs drawings more with contours and outlining the forms, I don't think he uses much construction but he has been shown to have studied construction. were i'm like the opposite and use construction to much so I need learn from him how to use it less but still have drawings that look like I used it.

Specifially the right (our left) hand is literally phasing through the handle of the hatchet. Notice where the fingers end, and then add in the thickness of the joints before that. The undershirt is also zero thickness, as are the flaps on the hat.
