Any commissioned portrait artist with half a brain is going to trace the reference, usually with a projector. It makes absolutely zero sense not to.

Hmm, I wanted to do an overlay gif to check, unless I fucked up badly I just tried to use proportional scaling and position to match the ears on both pictures. They do show differences but towards the edges so maybe, if the artwork is a picture, there's some perspective distortions? If it's a scan then, it most likely wasn't traced. Unless you trace and then change lines which sounds convoluted but who knows.
I did see there's a subtle difference with both childs lips between photo and artwork so I'm gonna say it wasn't traced, probably just really good measurements.

It's a trace from a projection. Any difference can be attributed to the curvature of the paper caused by the watercolor and the softness of projections.

This is not a photo but a painting. It doesn't matter if she photobashed, traced or draw from referencing. She is an artist.

Its just simple portraiture, literally anyone can do this if they spend time on it and have attended like 1 life drawing class in their life.

You outline with a projector, then fill it in using angles and basic understanding of the human body. The only reason you'd think this is fake is because you're actually autistic and have no idea how drawing works, you just want to trash on someone for actually doing something they enjoy.

this. everything is in place with only mild inaccuracies. tracing isn't all that difficult really. but at least this person knew how to use tones and make soft and hard transitions. isn't all that easy with watercolors.

Hm, it's too perfect on the details. It looks traced but from a projector because there is some warping. But she did paint it for sure. It may seem like cheating, but not everybody can achieve this even with a projector, particularly with watercolor. She's got skill.

I prolly dont lurk enough here but who does those paintings ? Everytime I see those faces I'm genuinly fascinated. It has such bad taste it almost embodies the ideal of bad taste and thats why its so good. I would buy this shit if I had money and hang it somewhere.
