will do these crit threads when I have time. is the image cringey?

> psiekier
lormand looks ready to kick butt! remember what i said yesterday about symmetrical heads.
additionally, try to render the folds in his forehead as folds with depth, rather than as just lines painted on.

> Charl
fun picture! is this referenced? try to work on your symmetry. in the middle of a drawing, hold it up to a mirror to flip it over! this helps you see your mistakes from another angle

> Frog
more hockey boys. do you want to do a sports manga? here, the only tangible flaw i can see is the feet. make sure they both have the same volume/mass! shoes might be something you practice seperately.

> Sketch Armstrong
welcome to the site, my man! set a reminder or something on your phone if you have trouble remembering to post here. maybe try depicting the mass of his hands inside his shirt by drawing a little fold there.

> zack
good job for trying something new and heading out of your comfort zone. the eyes are not symmetrical in the least. for one of them, the pupil rests in the corner, but for the other eye, the pupil is in the middle. also, the left pupil is higher than the right pupil. also, the eyebrows are strange. they're supposed to fit on the brow bone, but your boy has none to speak of, so they just kind of float around. you also mught want to invest in making them thicker. draw instagram model eyebrows to figure out how they work. also, the skin is slightly yellowish. lean more into the reds than the yellows. if you can't see what's wrong with a painting, flip the canvas! then all your errors will be clear as day! overall great work!

>> No.3655620

> tipsypaipai
i love how soft and malleable her badonkers look. but she needs a doctor :( . maybe i'm super inflexible, but i don't think legs open that far out, and i think that the feet would go forward. her thighs also seem asymmetrical as well - maybe make the right one thinner or the left one fatter. is this exercise to widen your visual library? can you explain how to do the exercise? i'd love to do it too.

> professorsugoi
WOW on the coloring of her shirt! love how you imply her sweat through the visibility of her breasts. you already know about the leg. as for the background, it looks strange to just have it blend into the sky. all the same, i know what you're trying to acheive here (making the background subtle). maybe you can add a less blurry line there?
i'm very bad at shading, so please take this with a grain of salt. however, it looks to be a sort of cloudy day, with the color choices you've done (made the leaves dark green and the sky a sort of grey). however, you have a razor sharp cast shadow on her neck, which is incongrouous with the lack of sharp shadows anywhere else on her body! so make the day brighter, or erase that strange cast shadow.

> celestino
these are sketches, so i don't know if i can critique them that well. but maybe you can explore how the chest muscle connects to the bicep and forms the armpt, rather than them being two seperate formations. draw swole men with their hands up to understand that muscle group.

> charl's second piece because they dedicated it to me
you're so nice. is the background crayon?
the face looks lopsided. i know you can't go ham on the shadows on his right cheek like you did with the left, but maybe establish that emaciation with a lighter grey. other than that, swell and creepy as always.

Ya got me, that's why I'm trying to draw more of these players in action

>> No.3655625

> feilereht
i love how you're not afraid to draw extreme perspective shots from imagination. "repetition and timing" - is this hampton? i'm going through "figure drawing" too! regarding wapping lines, the primary point of them is to establish overlapping parts of the body. hampton doesn't draw the wrapping lines on the part of the body that can't be seen.

> nicnac
is the drawing on the top referenced? i love its shading.
i know it's just a doodle, but the bottom left dude with the sword's legs look really awkward. why are they in ballet second position when he's presumably just standing there?

> j
are you sure you're going to have time to finish the rpg challenge?
perspective on the chests looks wrong to me. the unseen corner of both boxes should be higher in space.
love their color scheme, though, and how you carry that through to the background.

> louse
in love with your greyscale anime backgrounds. are they referenced or from imagination?
the second one appears to be too high, unless it's on a hill. make the perspective flatter.

> rakimora
so your whole life has been inktober, then.
the blue panel on the right seems strange to me. if it's flat, then th perspective is wrong and it should look more like a rhombus than a trapezoid. if it's not flat, then we should see its pair from the other side.
i'm sorry i can't critique you on your colors and brushwork, which is what you're working on right now.

> aru
very nice, but blurry so i can't see much. what's the protrusion on the top right guy's leg?

>> No.3655626

> usausa
i actually have critique for you today!
her right eye and eyebrow seems to float a little higher than her left one. bring it closer to the lower side of the face. but you know what you're doing 100%.

> bunnyburger
my one critique is that you didn't draw an anime girl attempting to eat one of the sandwiches. but really, i think you draw arms a little small.
bunnyburger, artists that can fluently swap between animals, realism and anime are scary. you scare me.

> st⋆rs
the wolfgirl's right breast would be a little more forward, and we would see a strip of flesh connecting the arm to the armpit/breast. also, i think this is a problem with all your work. when you draw anthros from 3/4s, you make the distance between the eyes too large and the closer one too large.

> menes
i love the experimental work you do. what is this piece depicting?

> Arma
fabulous and dynamic! if we see the right side of the warrior's hat accessory, then his head should be tilted to the side. however, the eyes look perfectly straight. rotate the head along the y axis. i'm curious, what weakness are you working on here?

>> No.3655627

> lazy lara
the shading on her boa is lovely! i really like how you express the texture with the paint. i think her other eye should be visible, as well as her other leg (if she has one. is the cane to help her walk because she only has one leg?)

> daijouvu
congrats on getting back on the wagon. make sure hitler's neck isn't too long.

> coinhero
love the watercolor! the tiger's tongue is beautifully colored. I'm a bit concerned about the child's nose, however. why is it red? I don't think noses really do that. also, the tiger's eyes look a little flat. maybe add a highlight next time. overall, lovely painting.

> dattab
you know a lot more about coloring than I do (as evidenced by your gorgeous composition) but the neon for the bulbs on the sign looks strange. maybe you should rim the bulbs in a lighter rather than a darker one?

> bandit
hey welcome back! the colors are lovely, but the perspective is strange. the cliff should be flatter. as right now, it looks like both of them are on an incline.

> peltingfury
I never thought to use the Reilly method in this way! but take care, especially on the top left face, to light according to elevation. the nose shouldn't be lighter than the forehead, as the forehead is closer to the light and catches more of it. but these are really good.

> cath
wow! I love the textures. I spoke about the wings yesterday. the girl's skin seems a little yellow. maybe give her some blush and make the bottom of her face a bit more blue.

>> No.3655628

>>3655625
Yeah this is hamptons book. A few of /dad/dies got together and made a study group for the book. I only really drew the parts of the body thay cant be seen mostly for my own sake to remember that its connected but I can try a few that doesnt need to add into it though anon.
Also thank you for all of these crits these are nice and I hope you do more in the future.

>> No.3655630

> berti
hey these gestures are are really nice. grinding fundies is the way to git gud. take care to make the ribs and the pelvis closer to each other in your drawings. also, make the thighs a little bit thicker.

> agent
the detail on this interior is beautiful. i love how everything is so specificaly drawn, and subtly shaded. the only thing i can suggest (and it's something i'm bad at too) is to work on your draftsmanship.

> mariafire
yeah, frick windows 10. i don't have much critique - it seems to be almost a carbon copy of your reference. i can see that your chin is outside of the neck, but in the reference, it sits inside. also, the white lines on her ribbon are smaller than in your rendition. additionally, the pupils in your edition seem to curve slightly before heading into the top eyelid. in the reference, they don't curve back in at all. i hope that made sense. your 3d renders are really good.

> tekky
your necks seem a bit long, but i don't know if that's personal taste or not. but your gestures are dynamic and gorgeous and that's all that matters.

> 7b7a2f
more crows. i can't properly critique animals though. :(

> leech
lovely gestures! take care to make breasts face to the front, and not to the side.

> juta
i love the simple, delicate syle you hace for your figures. when you're going for realism, maybe make the eyelids a little larger and the eyes closer together. the k pop guy looks a little spacey.

> tabascoshrimp
hey is this a continuation of your piece from yesterday? i love the expression on the rightmost woman's face. you consistently make women's arms really big and bulky. it seems that the women's necks are too long, as well.

>> No.3655635

> beanhead
really blurry, but the construction looks great.

> kazookd
sad that you're giving it up - it looks gorgeous. maybe try making the curvature of the mountain lead to the central figure, and darkening the pumpkins in the fore and background. you could also try removing a lot of the mountain behind pumpkin man, since a ton of it seems unecessary.

> 51ip
hey! congrats for getting back on the wagon! the bird middle finger is great. the posture on the bottom left one looks unbalanced - like he's going to fall over. move him over to the left.

> kringlefkr
hey again! isn't it a bit late for bowsette? nevertheless, the flame on her hands looks gorgeous. as for a character design thing, i'm not too in love with the strap hanging above her arms, but i can't explain why. i also don't feel for her expression. if she's supposed to have a crazed smile, she looks too geuninely happy. try moving her eyebrow down. i think the red dot on her obscured eye should be moved higher up. additionally, her hair looks dull against the background. it looks like yellow fabric. make the highlights intense on her hair! also, the flame looks waaay too dark to be fire. darken the background a bit, and raise the luminosity of the flame.

> meru
this is hilarious. will love to see it when it's done!

> oneironaut
love her hands! why is she crying so much? i don't know what's going on with her mouth; why is it so low?

> grabstein
these are really pretty. your dedication and self reflection are admirable.

> whizzard
love the hand! get a new bottle of ink. make his eyes focus on the viewer. where's his other hand?

>> No.3655637

> dataizm
blurry.

> plapo
her hand looks a lot better than yeterday! her right eye looks a tad small.

> vusta
the wolf man looks super kawaii. note that the knee has a plane on top of it and is flat.

> aruvee
your lines are super delicate and perfect for the subject matter. make sure the horns, middle of the eyes and the middle of the nose are symmetrical.

> awetos
your art skill and style are so inconsistent. i love how you don't shy away from extreme perspective shots. work on hands - a lot of the fingers are either too large or small or are in awkward positions.

> gottagitgud
on the completely nonstylized man, the feet are too small, and the calves look too short. i also think there's something wrong with the perspective of the head, but i'm not sure what.

> onixmav
did i critique you yesterday? sorry if i didn't! um but i don't see anything wrong with this. i'm very sorry. i asked my friend and he said that the feet are different sizes ( the closer one is larger) but i don't agree with this. very good job.

> aggretsuko
boys faces are long, and the eyes are too wide and don't give the impression of reality. curve the bottom eyelid.

> kirikae
amazing monsters as always. the face looks a little wide, and the normal hand looks awkward in that position (splayed out). maybe have him clench his hand or do the default hand pose most people have when standing.

> ibcah
beautiful and uncanny. maybe make the composition horizontal and place the two faces ath teh two focal points. also, i don't know if this is a deliberately cultivated effect, but the girl's eyes are too large and unfocused. eyebrows are also thicker towards the glabella, in my experience. the philtrum is far too dark.

> clapped
the executioner doesn't look like much of an executioner - he looks like an mma man with a plastic bag over his head. consider making the eyes and hair completely not visible. also, shrink his head! he looks like a child! his eyes also slope down.

>> No.3655638

> hcitrus
working on our weaknesses is the best way to improve :)
now, try and work on your edges to define one object from another. use a 100% hard square brush to define one form from another.

> john333
drawabox! i tried that a few years ago but didn't have the tenacity to finish. i love how clean and strong your lines are.

> almostgoodatanatomy
your hands and feet are far too small. also, your legs are too short and calves too thin.

> echo
you've already made it, so anything i say is probably wrong or an intentional effect. but i think his shoulders are too thin.

> lazypotato
WOW what are your top 3 environment tips? your ladies' torsos are sometimes a tad too long.

> clover
are these traced? if so, from where?

> ibcah
this is a very tiny nitpick, but the curve of her right leg needs to be a bit higher. otherwise, beautiful, stylish.

> panzer
practice makes perfect :). take care to make your torsos shorter and your legs longer.

nice shading on the headshot. i hope you polish this one more, you submit alot of half-finished works and i'd love to see something high-effort from you

>bandit
the cast shadows throw me off, but the rest of this has a comfy feel. i like that you used colors other than orange/yellow for the sunset

>dattab
this looks like a colored panel from a comic. really lovely forms/shadow-outlines on the stone!

>CoinHero
i know it's watercolor, but it's still far too blotchy and difficult to read. kudos for trying something different though. that's the key to growth.

>DaijouVU
try doing 3-5 of these in a day for results

>Lazy_Lara
not much going on here. is this traditional?

>Arma
great form. would fug. it'd be worth it to go the extra inch to color the more subtle lines that are used to describe muscles and hair strands. trust me on this.

>Menes
these look official! like something i'd see in Darkest Dungeon. what are they for?

>st⋆rs
you've got basic gesture down. strengthen your forms by diving into anatomy studies- starting with what something you struggle with. maybe feet or leg studies. it will be frustrating, but worth it.

>bunnyburger
bun/10. but the face thing and saddle aren't very convincing. nice job on all those face thumbs! proud of you for the effort.

>Manu
the hand looks really odd. get a pal to take a pic of you in the same pose for a ref. the neck is also a bit thicc. the composition looks promising though

>Aru
very nice! don't forget to draw from imagination/for fun too

>Rakimora
sharpen those edges boi. your machine looks more like a goop than a solid object

>Louse
these studies are fantastic- and i'm glad you did so many of them! don't be afraid to block in shapes with a larger brush, rather than just using lines for everything

>Celestino

>professorSugoi
bobs could be improved on. the "wet" shirt is also not very convincing.

nice, but hit up some drapery books

>Frog
moar studies MOAR! one figure a day is not enough for results!!! i BELIEVE in you froggo

>Charl
take a look at tutorials that show you how to build/block in the foundations of a face. hampton and baroque are the ones i can think of off the top of my head.

>psiekier
he looks more soft and balloony than hard and grisled. ease up on those line weights my guy.

>Peltingfury
these are pleasing. i have nothing bad to say. keep it up!

>Cath
rendering all of the trees to the point you did was a mistake. this has a nice children's book feel though

>>Berti
keep workin at it and you'll improve in no time. don't forget to draw for fun as well- or what's the point?

im envious of your work ethic. but for gods sake- DO MORE WORK FROM IMAGINATION. it will look wonky at first, but applying fundies to imagination drawings is a whole different beast that you've yet to really tackle. i know you have it in you

>7b7a2f

>leech

>juta
these are cute! CUTE! i hope you stick around for a long time lassie

>tabascoshrimp
these are solid for the most part, though something is lacking. i can't put my finger on it. variety in line weights maybe? line economy?

>Beanhead
it's slow, but i am seeing improvement. don't stick yourself with the study grind 24/7. your imaginative works are surprisingly charming, like the doggo with the ciagrette and tin man with a sword

>KazooKD
spooky. im excited to see this fleshed out a little more. it's looking great so far

>51ip

i dont know if today is just an off day for you (which is fine to have), but you wanna put more thought into studies or there's no point

>meru

>Oneironaut
ah i see she is enjoying a tasty sandwich. very wholesome :)

>Grabstein
i want to see some doodles from imagination from you. you've got to be drawing things that are actually fun outside of dad

all the problems with anatomy you mentioned was because of perspective problems. The extremeties, head, pelvis, torso all seem to have different perspectives so it ends up being broken. The feet aren't even aligned with the shins!
The hardest part is to refrain from using reference. If I really wanted to, I could of used a mirror and taken a picture in whatever pose I needed. But thats not the point of visual library. I cheated a little by asking for help on the porn thread but it helped identify what I was doing wrong.
I think its best to sketch out some thumbnail, plan your horrizon line with vanishing points, and build construction from there. The rest is visual library, which you build from drawing everything from life.

you all thought i wasn't going to post today. you're wrong. no crits tomorrow. they'll resume tuesday.

> bandit
i can't find anything wrong with your sketches. they're all so energetic and lively! earlier in the year you did "1000 pages" - what is it?
> awetos
hmm i don't know how you can actually enjoy running. i love the thumb on the top two panels! as for crit on your comic i think the top two panels on the right page feel unbalanced, and you can afford to leave gutter space on the top left panels.
> bunnyburger
these are too cute to be enemies. you consistently draw the right eye larger than the left side.
> tipsypaipai
this is hilarious. see 10/26 critique for my thoughts on the underlying structure. i know this is your style, but her eyes feel far too wide for her face and for how realistic the rest of her body is.
> kirikae
I don’t have anything more to say. You’ve done a very nice job with the picture! Maybe it’s time to add color, or move on.
> zack
you’re right, this is a lot more pleasing to the eye. it also betrays your skill a whole lot better. One eyebrow is significantly larger than the other. and the crescent shaped highlight on the top of his right eye gives the impression that there’s a fold of skin IN THE EYE or something to that effect. is this a self portrait?

>> No.3657833

> celestino
really cute. is this the middle of an animation? one eye is larger than the other, even though there’s not a significant amount of distortion due to perspective occurring. also, this may be a thing of personal taste, but the band on the hat looks painted on. try curving the band outward on the cat’s right side like you did on his left.
> tabascoshrimp
wow, this picture gets better and better every day! be careful about making the tails of the womens’ smiles too long.
> j
oh my god, you’re killing the challenge! such a shame that you’ve waited until now to do it. again, I’m in love with the cohesive color scheme.
> frog
glad to see that progress on the sports anime is going smoothly. the figures are gorgeous and I don’t see much anatomical error. maybe try drawing more of the figures a day.
> daijouvu
very nice! what is this a concept for? don’t make her (its?) design too complex.
> charl
strange and creepy doodles. be careful with line economy – don’t use multiple lines when you can use one.
> clover
is this a continuation of the piece from two days ago? looks nice. will love to see the finished product.
> bunnyburger
the hole leading to the tavern is a cute concept. the interior looks sort of plain, however. and, you probably know this, but the barrels on the side of the building are asymmetrical.
> juta
your art has been such a pleasure to look at and today is no exception! the coloring is so stylish. you draw arms a little short, in my opinion. where did you get the clothes ref from?
> beachpacket
welcome back! your brushwork and anatomy are superb.

>> No.3657836

> manu
these look great! the only thing wrong with the left girl is her neck. her chin is attached to her neck, instead of the back of her head being attached.
> st⋆rs
these studies are stellar (wink wink)! I especially like the subtle shading in the wolf-girl on the top right.
> USAUSA
very nice.
> lazy_lara
the colors are really nice! next time, maybe you can use the colors to more strongly imply shape and depth, rather than just the color of the material.
> coinhero
is this a 1-1 copy? it looks really nice, but without the reference image I can’t critique.
> kazookd
very pretty! next time, try to use cleaner lines. the more confident and direct your lines are, the more efficient your analysis of the figures will be.
> mariafire
if you get info on the fundamentals hierarchy, can you post it? i want to know it as well. As for the work, the nose shouldn’t have a soft shadow radiating in all directions. in the reference photo it only extends until the bridge of the nose, and is used to indicate the side of the nose.
> moirem
whoah, these watercolors are really cool! how do you get gradients with strong borders? (like on the cheekbones). you consistently make the right eye smaller and lower than the left eye.
> plapo
she’s becoming more childlike! I love it. and the hand is so realistically rendered I want to scream! the bridge of her nose looks a little too strong, but that could be my personal tastes. the red cloth looks a little plasticky, but I can’t articulate why. I’m sorry.
> grabstein
hey did you change your icon? leaves look great. I don’t have much experience with leaves; maybe you want to draw some from life. looking forward to seeing what you do tomorrow. check the thread more often – I’ll drop in to do crits every few days.
> subarashii
the color choices are bold and gorgeous. maybe you should use larger sections of black and use less small lines/details to encourage clarity. where do you stream?

>> No.3657839

> menes
wow, a scanner? how bougie. I love the schnozzle on the third guy on the top. are these referenced? do you intend to do a period piece in the upcoming future? or do you just like drawing old guys
> dataizm
the circles look like they should be tilted in, in my opinion
> fujo
what a happy girl! the highlight of the nose should be at its highest part – the bridge – rather than the side.
> pawn
nice vehicle sketches! I wish I had the guts to draw vehicles, lol. check the perspective of the hood of the top right jeep.
> hunchen
will love to see it when it’s finished.
> cath
love the cast shadow on the bee’s butt.i’m not sure about the construction of the tree stump next to the guy, however
> panzer
was this done with pencil and eraser? in this position I think we’d see a bit more of the lip in her position. I’m not sure where the light source is coming from. this might be personal taste, but I’m not too into using white to delineate individual strands of hair. hair clumps and acts like ribbon, not string
> clapped
looks awesome, even in black and white. the only thing I can see wrong is that we should see more of her palm in this position.
> beanhead
don’t use such dark blacks or bright whites. objects don’t display that much color breadth.
> berti
nice gestures! I really see the suggestion of movement in them.
> oneironaut
wow, so nsfw. the side of her face is sagging down. I love the folds in her clothes.
> meru
god, his hands are so great. you can draw whatever you want as many times as you want, especially if it brings you joy. I obsessively draw thicc girls with an unreasonable amount of hair. his left forearm looks a little long

>> No.3657842

> aru
I love the abominations you draw! maybe make his upper arm a lil longer – I’m questioning how it holds up his pincer.
> tekky
nice sketches! l especially like your insanely accurate lobster.
> theo
is this your room? the perspective of the shelf looks strange. the top of it is a bit too distorted.
> hcitrus
I love your colors! I mentioned edges yesterday. to me right now it seems like you use the lines on his face to delineate forms, instead of rendering it.
> vusta
hippos are cool, but your gesture drawings of them are even cooler! I really like how strongly the construction comes through your doodles. I don’t have anything bad to say about them.
> louse
are these referenced? watch the tangent on the building in the foreground to the building in the background.
> professorsugoi
really like the stylization of this. the philtrum should line up with the septum.
> peltingfury
I’m not quite sure what’s going on at the moment. will watch in the upcoming days to see how it progresses.
> 7b7a2f
it’s a bird kind of week, huh? I agree.
> leech
love the illusion of depth on the right eye, wondering why you didn’t do it for the left. Her hand’s also far too large! what are the boxes on the bottom?
> whizzard
spooky and gorgeous. I love the variation of color in her hair. her upper arm looks far too long and her lower arm looks too short.
> 51ip
I don’t know what this is, but the color choices are soothing.

>> No.3657845

> kringlefkr
gestures are dynamic and stylish. I’m not sure what’s going on in the top right corner – is that a bird, or a girl?
> nicnac
these doodles are great! love the spit dripping from his jaw.
> agent
woww on the detail of this. not sure where the light source is, which makes the choices of shading somewhat strange.
> almostgoodatanatomy
very nice! you could be a little clearer on how the sword is inside the stone, by showing its insertion point.

> john333
glad to see something from imagination! nice to take breaks from grinding every now and then. her eye wouldn’t be visible in this position, as her nose shows that her face is in perfect profile
> gottagitgud
really like the perspective on the dude’s hand. glasses don’t move with the curvature of the face – they stay flat.
> aggretsuko
the gradients and bold colors are gorgeous. (have you played darkest dungeon?) I hope you finish this.
> rakimora
I know this is a color study, but her face looks a little unbalanced. her eyes sit on a straight line, but her nose and mouth are not perpendicular to that line.
> aruvee
mate if this is a human oc please don’t with the legs. really like the folds on the pants, but arms are a little tiny.
> psiekier
no real crit except for watch the symmetry of his eyes and of the frills on his back.
> echo
I really don’t think you need lines on this one – I think they only serve to decrease the realism. how do you achieve the fuzzy, shiny look? is it a brush or a texture?
> ibcah
mouth should be longer, eyes should be smaller, and watch the shading on his eyes, as they look like eyelashes.

I was going to ask if anyone would like a HIGH EFFORT challenge. Probably starting in January, since there's the weakness and other ones before the end of the year.
Basically a lot of challenges are people doing things that kind of fit, or tailoring their sketches for the day around that theme to get two birds with one stone, which is fine. HIGH EFFORT challenge though would be like 2-3 weeks to make the absolute best piece you can, like portfolio piece worthy.
Idk if anyone would be interested though.

Wanna hear something scary?
DAD has been active for over half of a year now.
And vast majority of you didn't actually improve (even the ones that were very active like bunnyburger: compare his newest and oldest artwork).

Honestly it looks like gathering badges and spending time with you on your site is a waste of time.
Any ideas where people that are SERIOUS about making it hang out?

bleh let me retype that....

The reason why most of you aren't improving is because you're afraid of busing your ego with shitty work. By shitty work I mean doing work that is difficult that will help you get better.

Instead you'd rather draw comforting things because you're afraid of showing faults to your Dad peers. The worst DADs are making the most improvement because they don't have an ego to bruise in the first place and thus are more free to experiment.

I've seen vast improvements in how I approach art and how driven I am. Dad and the google hangouts group has been a blessing for me. It's made art incredibly fun and pushed me out of my comfort zone of just drawing dragons and ending the day after I do commissions.

Improvement may not be visible as much yet, but I know soon it will be, as I continue to push myself. I love this community.

My first 6 months was more about discipline and habit than improving drawing skills. My submissions rarely had any proper studies because of this but I'm trying to put more effort into it recently. So in that regards, it's been massively successful to me and certainly not a waste of time. The biggest challenge when I started dad/las was the tendency to give up and dad/las helped me keep pushing myself no matter what.

But you are absolutely right in that I should now focus more on studies and specific goals to improve drawing skills rather than just a vague "I'm going to draw something today". I honestly don't know how long improvement will take, and I assume its different for anyone doing their best given their circumstances, but I think whats most important is that you never give up and try your best, to push yourself everyday even if you fail. Because failure is progress, and the more you fail, the more you will get better to succeed.

I print these daily diary/schedules out and plan out the day. It's always a work in progress and I configure and change a bit if it some bits don't work out. Some days I skip it though but I keep trying. But I find it important to plan out my day, even if I don't follow it precisely, else I'm just going to procrastinate and lose focus as hours just fly by.

Other notes are just really for myself and can't really share it without anonymizing it. Various quotes from myself and others, lots of pseudosciency stuff inspired by the book drawing with the right side of the brain. Lots of notes from youtube motivation vids. Jordon peterson, TED. They are super cringey at times, incoherent, and may not apply to others. But it's super helpful just to physically write down my thoughts and further improve who i am and know about myself, so I keep doing them.

I find it similar to programming, you have to identify and declare all your life variables in order to start solving problems, mix and match, see what works and solve them.

I'm just a filthy beg though so feel free to disregard everything. But I'm trying really hard as best as I can, even if I change little in a day, it's another step forward and i'm a better person than if i did nothing
