>pick up a pen
>get a sheet of paper (cheap printing paper will do)
>get a copy of "Fun with a Pencil" by Andrew Loomis (else you're ngmi)
>put pen on paper and apply pressure with your arm
there you go anon.

Do I need to read "Fun with a Pencil" or just get a copy and have it on my desk?

just have it on your desk to get Loomis's blessing. but if you want to draw anime you have to read it and do the exercises.

I always start my drawings by drawing a circle, doing the head, and then going down whatever path I created BUT that is wrong and it can lead to a mismatched body/head.

Now I'm trying to begin my drawings by the legs. It helps you determine the hip position, the feet, and the whole balance of the person. Start drawing the tighs and knees and it all flows like water, my friend.

any art book that teaches construction (most every one) will do. Loomis did not invent it and is not the patron saint of construction.
