I'm interested to see how much time people on /ic allocate to art each day, so I made a survey here for you guys to vote.

https://www.strawpoll.me/16369732

For me I probably spend about 2 hours during my typical day, and around 4 - 5 hours during the holiday/weekends

I dont draw, I just wonder why I'm not a good artist.

>> No.3585738

Its hard for me to gauge. Over the past 3 months I've spent almost all my free time on art. However, I also have terrible focus often. Unless I'm really wrapped up in a piece I take frequent little breaks. So even though I'm "drawing" for most of the day the actual time spent on a piece probably isn't nearly as much.

If I had to guess, I spent about 6-8 hours average drawing each day over the summer? gonna be less now with summer classes

structured uni (and brutal deadlines) will make me productive again

Usually averaging between 3-4 hours, trying to push for an average of 6-7 but it takes a lot out of me, I don't have enough ideas to be drawing 6-7 hours every day lol.

idk how to answer. I normally do 5-10 hours a day but I chase mania and sometimes will work on stuff for like 20+ hours at a time. Painted for like 36 hours a few weeks ago and then crashed hard as fuck the next few days. June and July was 60+ hour weeks relatively consistency while doing an lsd microdosing schedule.

Not ideal circumstances for getting good at being reliable or having consistency or continuity in your work probably, but it's a good way to strip away the bullshit mental blocks that can lead to innovations or discoveries or whatever.

i dont wanna

I think having a focused slot will help you get more done in said time.

rather than aimlessly doing bits over the day.

then you can save distractions for when you've done.

More than 10 hours. Full-time NEET

I'm willing to bet that a lot of people on /ic/ over-report, especially if they don't actively time themselves.

desu I'm kinda surprised that many on /ic don't draw everyday, but I'm probably biased after hearing "grind > x hours" so many times everyday.

>> No.3586236

1-2 hours, which is good since that was the time I spent masturbating before I began drawing.

>> No.3586241

I do 12 to 14 hours a day of Loomis.

>> No.3586248

I put down 9-10 hours.

8-9 for my work on commissions on weekdays as well as an additional 1-3 hours for my own projects. On weekends 7-9 hours on my own projects.

Not sure, I set my goals as doing a certain amount instead of by time, so like "20 pages of loomis" instead of "2 hours on loomis". Not sure if it's the way to go about it but it does keep me motivated to consistently work every day and progress in my practice books so I'm sticking with it.

Yeah, I don't think that many hours a day is necessary anyways. Spending time watching videos of other artists is a good way to open your mind so the next time you draw you'll do it even better.

Security guard, I’m basically the one watching other people and making sure they aren’t screwing around so there’s rarely anybody over my shoulder making sure I’m not screwing around

I spend three days a week working up to 18 hours straight and the rest of the week I basically just sorta recover.
