I was constantly lonely before I started doing art. I used to go about my daily routine without talking to anyone and then when I got home I just sat in my room all day mindlessly browsing the internet and consuming various forms of media to numb myself to the isolation. Art has been my salvation in that regard. I still feel intense pangs of loneliness every now and then but doing art has lessened their frequency somewhat. Even though I’m very shit at it, I feel this sense of fulfillment when I’m making art. Maybe you feel lonely while drawing but it’s possible that you would feel even more lonely if you didn’t draw.

Yes, but joining an active art discord and attending live sketching with local artists once a week did help a lot.

I listen to podcasts or videos when drawing so it feels less lonely.
However, I can't really deal with having real people present (physically or just voice) because it distracts me.
Also, my drawings keep me company.

I wish I could make art friends but I'm shy as fuck and run away if anyone looks at me.
I joined a couple of discord servers but ended up not taking to anyone and then leaving.
Added one guy who flat out ignored me when I didn't respond to his cringey flirts.
So I just sit quietly and listen to the tv or occasional let's play when I draw.

but honestly 90% of the time its very enjoyable to just work in silence i have a coworker of mine who wanted to make a comic with me and we just go to the libary and study quietly, its nice.

shame that we both suck lol
