Yup that's me, i'm using SAI2 with these 2 brushes the most.
I'm still very new at this so i don't know much yet, been experimenting after that one anon suggest i try out painting style. Gonna try out roughline + underpainting after this one piece.
Layers confused me, back when i use the traditional lineart process, it took a lot of time spend seperating layers, clip them and i also draw on the wrong layer a lot.
I feel that painting everything on the same layer help remove those problems, although overpaint stuffs every few minutes is a pain in the ass.

Lazily working away at this.

I'm painting in greyscale this time. Still a lot of stuff that I need to define better but I think it looks alright for now.

The boot and left hand could use more structure. For instance the exterior contour of the boot could indicate the change of planes of each section even if it is minimal it would help a lot to make it look less plain.

the longer i look the more disappointed i am with every single element. the shading, faces, even the basic underlying forms (or lack thereof) you use refs, but you learn nothing from them. references are only as good as the person executing them. there is little to no understanding of how fabric works, or how metal shines. the further down you go on her body, less coherent the anatomy becomes. the only thing that stands out as being competently drawn is where the hair parts on her scalp, and even then, the hair becomes less appealing near the ends.

Hey, I'm having problems with finding the right way to draw. pretty cartoonish arms, but maybe a bit too short? and the difference in thickness after the elbow is kinda weird

face and head are definitely janky
because theres no jaw, yet its not round enough to be potato style
face features are out of perspective- like, the camera is at a low angle, but you drew the mouth and eyes as if they were facing it directly, and from the jaw-nonjaw curvature, the mouth should probably have been made higher up

The how Idea of using screentone is to differentiate planes using textures for the contrast, it's basically the same as hachura, but using dots.
When you use such strong dots for the skin, that is supposed to be a smooth texture, and don't differentiate the texture for the hair and stuff like that, the end result is confusing and ugly. Next time try studying using a example and using more than one texture, at least three is a good number.
