i used to be really enamored with mobbleles drawings. and then they became sort of scribbly and hollow. i gushed about her style of drawing to an old professor and he sort of cringed at them, I didnt understand that reaction then, but I do now.

along with mobb, i found a lot of artists that seemed to share a lot of similarities. young, asian, coastal, and have really edgy scribbly drawings. its 2018 now, so itd be about 2 yrs since i found them. So its not too crazy to say that that "in your face" style lost its edge. one thing ive learned from chasing aesthetics, if somethings TOO cool, then youre just allowing it to be. Once youre done, then all of the faults will come back, and youll be able to see clearly.

Once i built up some confidence in my own drawing ability, I stopped melting whenever I looked at any art on the internet. I started to actually search for artists that were working to depict things that I was interested in.

was obsessed with pic relateds art to the point that I was copying them and tracing them and trying desperately to paint like them. Never managed to and all my attempts are now lost to the sands of time. I stopped following because they caught me and made an angry post about me copying their style, which looking back is so fucking kekworthy but at the time I was so shook I deleted all my art, apologized, and stopped following. Maybe for the better it encouraged me to stop pining for someone else’s style and get better myself.

I'm not going to say who, but I was initially drawn to him for his older artworks but never really was a fan of his current style. Coffin in the nail was when he started posting the stuff he'd do in art school, made me envious and somewhat peeved that he's spending tens of thousands just to make gay furry sculptures. Then again I'm just basing my observations as an outsider so I don't really know the full story, but it was still infuriating to see.

Funny enough, looking into her, I want to keep occasional tabs on this Mobblele. Seems like she dropped out of Calarts and has a job at Sony Pictures now.

Even though I don't really care about the struggles and frustrations of a teenage American girl I don't even know from a seemingly upper/upper-middle-class family, I think it's interesting to see what she does with all the good resources and opportunities she's had in her life.

On it i never post anything even vaguely personal, just images (99% commission work) and practical updates (like: "commissions will reopen on X date, etc) even the language i intentionally keep dry and to the point.

I purposefully keep it detached, because i consider it a side job type tumblr, only up to make commission money, but i also never get any /ask, nor any interesting really interaction with any of said followers (aside from commission requests, ofcourse).
