That fucking Dragonball, Ghost in the Shell and Akira of all examples are not relevant because the source material happened to spawn other media adaptions that also became extremely popular? That is beyond stupid. Obviously some mediums just have more normie reach than others, but that doesn't mean the original source material wasn't immensely beloved and a huge influence on other artists.
