I get what you're trying to say, but the reality is that not much is enforced here. Mods don't delete irrelevant threads, users don't really face any consequences for anything they do or say. It's no-man's land here.

Second: People will stop posting threads if people stop replying to them. Half of the time, threads aren't posted to actually learn or discuss anything, they're posted to get people fired up and start a shit-fest. Factually, getting mad about this solves nothing. Ignoring it until it dies down at least is rational, eveb if it's only barely more impactful.

/ic/ self moderates because moderation and quality control is already so minimal. Plus with no beginner threads, there would be no updated sticky. Which, by the way, most people don't even read because they don't go to the beginner thread and instead jump straight to making their own thread.
The closest comparison to /ic/ is /i/, and the thing is that /i/ has different boards for drawing on a theme. On-topic threads don't have to be "beginner thread, draw thread, stylisation thread," they could be gesture drawing, anatomy study, character designs, landscapes, colour studies, outdoor sketching and hell even your style/my style threads. What we don't need is threads all focused around one attention whore demanding critique on ONE piece of work per thread. Because that's when you get dumb one liner comments and shitposting.
The problem here is that /ic/ doesn't ever post their work. I want my comic threads here on /ic/, but there's never enough to keep a consistent thread going.
