It's competently drawn. You could make the case that her right eye is a bit high relative to head orientation, but it feels like a nitpick, the tilt is implied BY the right eye's position. Sloppy MS Paint edit of what it looks like moved down 3 pixels. Really no big deal.
The real problem with the new FE art is that it's piss generic. Characters like Camilla may have stupid overly intricate/silly armor, but if nothing else, they're instantly recognizable from the neck up. The colors are also unimaginative, like the most basic flat primary color schemes.
And Blondie's hair looks stupid.

>> No.3470819

it's basically what that comment says. The illustrator doesn't seem to be able to properly get the illusion of 3d, and the eyes seem not only "wrong" in relationship to the angle the character is facing, also, one seems to be lower than the other, noticeably so.

Basically it's bad perspective. Too lazy to redline tho.

I saw some people say that the new artist is the same one for the Uta no Prince-Sama dating sim. Not sure how true that is, but she does have some appealing illustrations.

I don't think Soejima even takes jobs outside of Atlus anymore.
This sterile, plastic look reminds me more of Doi than him, but overall I think the Utapri artist is a better guess.

The colors are just basic, man. Crayola crayon 12 pack basic. A subdued but interesting color palette is possible.

While her design doesn't really impress me, Eldegard's undeniably cuтe. The blonde guy is sickeningly generic and I'm not a fan of the tanned guy either. The artist has her moments, but so far I'm not terribly impressed by her work on FE. I would've preferred them to have hired Hidari, Ippei or Sachiko Wada again.

They weren't warriors either they were knights, they'd often wear a design over their chainmail armor (most likely their countries flag). So yes indeed they could've been wearing red, blueberry blue, and banana yellow. Oh wait, the English wore all three of those colors during the 100 years war. The era you're thinking of is the Dark Ages, learn your history retard.

It's fairly common to see eyes done like this all over the place. I think it's a natural mistake rather than intention but it may have some kind of idk soul-window enhancing effect, van dyck is an example where you sometimes see this in fine art.
