Bring out your pocket sketchbook and pencil.
Sketch out people nearby you.
If there's no one, sketch random objects/environments within your view.

I like to practice my visual memory: I take a random piece of art or photo and eyeball it for a while, maybe do a quick study, and then sit on it. Later, when I have some downtime I try to recreate it from memory. I stop when I think it's finished, but I'll probably also do multiple takes, remixes... Anyway, later I can come back to the original and see exactly where I fucked up and why. It's great because it gives you a sense of what things do and don't stick around in your memory well. Better yet, you can do it with either the simplest shit (like a logo), or truly test yourself with some KJG-tier insanity (not that I've tried, frankly, for obvious reasons). You can also try different time intervals, try multiple things at once... whatever you want, really.
I mean I've personally found this method helpful, but I haven't seen anything similar mentioned anywhere and I'd like to hear what y'all think about it.

Don't measure. You're not trying to make a perfect piece. You're just sketching. Have you read keys to drawing? Do it like that.

do a quick of the surrounding sketch from your perspective and then pick someone nearby and redraw to whole thing from their perspective. this is pretty hard at first but it really forces you to think in 3d and use your imagination. this is the ideal for an exercise imo: something that incorporates both fundamentals and imaginative skills.
>draw imaginary characters in the irl scene; create a story/composition around them
>take an irl person/landmark/object & redraw it in a few different styles
>make environmental changes. i;e do the whole thing underwater, abandoned, melting etc.

it doesn't matter how much you get done or even how much you fuck them up, the important thing is it gets your brain going

I can guarantee you the only thing you need is less than three hours a day to draw.
Anything else is excessive.

Of course he has to measure, you doof. Even if you 'just' estimate the proportions/ eyeball it, you're still measuring. You don't have to do the pencil-thumb thing, but you should pay attention to the relations of your lines and the negative space.

don't bother, read a few pages of a nourishing book instead. it will make you ineresting, plus that one korean guy says you should read books for visual library

This sounds challenging i´ll try using redrawing from other persons view

>>3414943
You might have a point, i read somewhere that training your eye to focus for 2 hours gives you the same results than 10 hours

Kim jung gi? he also said like to observe and imagine how the people would look under their clothes i think

>>3415192
Are you talking about measurements? usually negative spaces are bigger you´re right

And how do you do that and make those sketches not suck? I've tried to do the same on the bus and metro before, but people is always moving, 30 secs and they no longer are positioned the way I started the sketch. Not only that but people can't stop staring at the guy who is looking at them while scribbling something in his little notebook
