What comics you currently working on, /ic/?

The last comic thread has been gone for a while and I thought there was a lot of solid info in that thread, so I think we should try to keep this type of thread around as a general.

Post about any comic you're working on and receive some feedback; or feel free to ask any questions related to making comics such as scripting, storyboarding, paneling, inking, typesetting, etc etc.

Where can I find a list of "free use" novels that can be adapted to a graphic novel format? I thought it would be fun to draw 'Claudius the God' as a kind of gag strip manga.

Never heard of this kind of thing but I'm interested if anyone else knows where to find this sort of resource.

I'm surprised that fur-freaks haven't jumped on The Island of Doctor Moreau yet

Is this thread not run by the autists over in /co/'s webcomic thread?
Because if it isn't i'm setting up camp here. Fuck that place.

Last thread was made by the lad working on a Little Witch Academia doujin. I'm not that Anon but I figured it'd be good to keep this thread up as a general. And I haven't gone on /co/ in centuries so don't know who those fools are.

Is there a reason you use mspaint instead of Medibang or any other of the better, free drawing programs?

Do mangaka still use screentones or have they switched to digital? How do you select tones?

Digital Screentones. CSP is love, CSP is life.

No way fag. This thread is far different from /co/'s /hywg/, and let's please keep it that way.

Go to Pixiv Sketch my friend. It's a free stream on the frontpage of Pixiv where you'll see fanartists and manga artists stream their work. For digital, they still do screentones using set-up brushes.

I remember back when I was younger i'd just grab a bunch of printer paper and a clip board then get to work on some comics. Those were good times.

I've been planning a comic for the past year or two but I just keep refusing to start because I never feel like my art is good enough

You can always start off making throwaway comics on the side while practicing improving your art. 1-5 page short stories and short strips will go a long way to helping you learn sequential art and making 30 page comic books.

I have the opposite problem. I've had ideas for original comics, but I'm terrible at writing and making sure all my research is right for the comics backstory.

For example, I've had an idea about an Irish-American girl from Boston who gets swept up in a mythical Irish world full if Irish mythological creatures and druids, but Ive never been to Ireland or Boston. I feel like I'd have to visit both to fully tell an accurate story.

Similar situation, I've been working on story set in Naval cities in Japan like Kure and Yokosuka. Although I've never visited them, I've spent some time just studying a map of the area, seeing what kind of tourists spots are around in the area like restaurants, parks, neighborhoods, museums, etc. Also go on youtube or google and search for tourists vlogs of the city you're focusing on, I felt like all that helped get a better grasp of the area I'm working on and it gives me ideas for areas to take my characters to.

Just draw it all with stick figure and geometric forms, no expectation of quality. Keep working on your craft. Redraw pages once a little more comfortable.
