Tolkien was no master when it came to art (though I believe he could have been, if he hadn't been focused on literature and linguistics), but his sense of design and aesthetics is strong, and I wish adaptations of his work pulled more from his original designs and paintings.

Their stuff is really inconsistent. While I love just about everything they make from an artistic standpoint a lot of their stuff is only average. When they go all out on spreads though they go all out, Chobits, in particular, has a bunch of great official images.
